Ston Easton Park Hotel, Bath, England Vacations, Honeymoons and Luxury Travel Packages

A superb Palladian mansion set in one of the West Country's most romantic estates. There is little that can compare with the well preserved classicism of Ston Easton Park.
Grade I listed building of 1740, within a classical landscape created by the great 18th Century landscape gardener, Humphry Repton, Ston Easton Park exudes elegance, warmth and comfort. Log fires burn, comfortable antique furniture beckons evoking memories of a more leisured age and providing a welcome you might associate with a magnificent private country house.
Reflecting the glory of a bygone age, exquisite furnishings and paintings add further refinement to the excellence of the dining rooms and the fine, spacious bedrooms. The Library and the magnificent State Rooms are always greatly appreciated by guests, including one of England's earliest surviving Print Rooms with its reminders of the Grand Tours undertaken in the 18th Century. In fact, the Palladian Saloon has been described as one of 'the finest rooms in Somerset'.
Guests often delight in going 'below stairs' to the old kitchen, still preserved as it was in its Georgian heyday.
Once the home of the Hippisley family, whose family crest still adorns the ornate ceiling of the Saloon, the house has been very sensitively restored since the 1960s, most notably by the distinguished former editor of The Times, William Rees-Mogg.
Lawns slope down to the river and the gardens contain a host of interesting historic features including a number of wells, an 18th Century Ice House, a ruined grotto fountain, a sham castle, romantic Palladian bridges that span the river and a rare 18th Century plunge pool the discovery of which helped save Ston Easton Park from demolition in the 1950s.
Ston Easton Park Hotel Accommodations
Ston Easton Park's bedrooms are gloriously grand but never intimidating. Many have genuine four poster beds, others coronet beds. All have antique furniture, fine paintings and of course enticing views of either the formal or informal side of the landscaped gardens and the parkland beyond.
The bathrooms of the principal bedrooms were converted from the original wig rooms.
A magnificent Chippendale four-poster bed and fine panoramic views across the valley of the River Norr are features of the master bedrooom. The beautiful Chinese Bedroom on the second floor provides spectacular views across the parkland to the south.
As you might expect, all the rooms have original period features which, combined with exquisite furnishings, enhance still further the quality of your stay at Ston Easton Park.
Our aim is to make each one of you feel like an honoured guest at a private country house. Each bedroom has its own individual character, with decoration by Jean Monro, an authority on 18th century style. Fresh flowers from the garden carefully arranged in your room and friendly, dedicated service provide a truly refreshing welcome at Ston Easton Park.
