A few hundred feet above one of the most beautiful lakes in Britain beckons a small gem of a hotel. It's called The Samling.

The Samling Hotel, Cumbria Rooms

All the rooms at The Samling are startlingly different and all but one have stunning views over Lake Windermere. Five are in the main house and five have been fashioned out of the original cottages. There is no best room, everyone has their own favourite.

Methera

Methera benefits from a separate sitting area with fireplace and TV, decorated in cool blues and greens. It has views to the south and the west and enjoys a good deal of late afternoon and evening sunshine.

Tethera

Three picture windows overlooking Lake Windermere set the scene while warm cream and beige tones provide the ultimate relaxing setting.

Hovera and Lethera

These suites have been fashioned out of the original cottage and are very similar. Built on three levels for bathroom, living room and bedroom, they have stunning views, a cosy fireplace and an air of deep, relaxing comfort.

Barker Brow

A gem of a suite set on two levels. A cosy, intimate feel, the living room has a sofa you just sink into and the walls are of Lakeland slate.
