DAYS 1-2:
Arrive in Edinburgh and transfer to your stylish hotel, The Balmoral. A full day of sightseeing includes Edinburgh Castle to view the Scottish Crown Jewels; the Royal Mile; Holyrood Palace, the Queen's official residence in Scotland; and the Royal Yacht 'Britannia.'
DAYS 3-4:
Journey into the Highlands where you visit Caithness Glass Factory and the Edradour Scotch Whisky Distillery, the smallest in Scotland. Explore Blair Castle, home to the Duke of Athol. Stay at the world-class Inverlochy Castle in Fort William and see Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in Great Britain. Enjoy an excursion to Loch Ness, home of the fabled monster, then continue to Loch Duich to visit Eilean Donan Castle and the Isle of Skye.
DAYS 5-6:
Drive along the shores of Lake Linnhe into the eerie valley called Glencoe and continue toward Oban. Your hotel, the Isle of Eriska, is located on its own private island. Excursions by ferry take you to the Isles of Mull and Iona.
DAYS 7-8:
Drive along the shores of Loch Awe, then cross the hills of Loch Fyne to Inverary Castle, home to the Duke of Argyll. Continue to Loch Lomond and Gleneagles, a luxurious resort where you stay for two nights. A full-day's journey takes you to Stirlingshire to visit Stirling Castle and to the Trossachs, where Rob Roy, the Scottish Robin Hood, was known to have lived. Then stop for a break at the Glenturret Distillery.
