1 Day Eco Kayaking Adventure Vacation
Duration: 1 day Priced From : Contact Travelwizard Dates : Mar - Nov, weather permitting Dec.

Meeting Time & Place
We will meet at 10 a.m. in downtown Healdsburg, which gives you ample time to finish your delicious breakfast at your hotel or make the drive up from virtually anywhere in the Northern California region. We then jump in the van and drive to our launch spot at Veterans Memorial State Beach or De Lormier Winery on the Russian River. You’ll be fitted with Personal Flotation Device and listen to brief safety and paddling instructions before we paddle off at about 10:30 a.m. Within minutes we will experience our first small rapid and have a chance to feel the water temperature difference where small creeks come into the river.
The surrounding scenery changes as we kayak downstream and go from tight sections to open areas with vineyards lining the river. Along the way we will pass many places to stop for a swim or enjoy the wildlife that calls the river home. We will have opportunities to see Snowy Egrets, Blue Heron, turtles and even otters. There are many fish from Steelhead to Salmon that live in the river, and depending on the time of the year we may also pass schools migrating upstream to spawn.
Lunch on the River
Along the Russian River are many beaches perfect for picnics. We will stop and enjoy a gourmet picnic lunch. A typical menu might include Mediterranean pasta salad, yummy sandwiches, local organic salad greens, fresh baked bread, exotic cheeses, seasonal fruit, and dessert. After lunch we’ll continue down the river until we reach Wholer Bridge or Alexander Valley Campground, signaling the end of our journey. We end at around 3:30 p.m., jump into the van for the 10-minute drive back to Healdsburg.
