Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Juneau Arrive in Juneau and transfer to your hotel. Embark on a helicopter glacier trek for an aerial perspective of the grandeur of the Juneau Icefield and glaciers. A professional mountaineering guide teaches you the basics of trekking on the icy terrain.
Day 2: Gustavus Take a scenic float plane from Juneau to Admiralty Island to search for brown bear. In addition to exploring with your private guide for the perfect bear-viewing opportunity, you also have the chance to see the flora and fauna of America's most outstanding ancient rainforest, the Tongass National Forest. Continue by float plane to Gustavus and Glacier Bay's Bear Track Inn.
Day 3: Glacier Bay National Park Board your private vessel for a day trip into the waterways of Glacier Bay National Park, which offers an unparalled richness in marine wilderness, including snow-capped mountains, ocean coastlines, majestic fjords and freshwater rivers and lakes. This diverse landscape hosts a variety of plant communities and wildlife.
Day 4: Point Adolphus After breakfast, board your vessel and explore one of Alaska's richest marine wildlife habitats. The greatest concentration of whales in southeast Alaska occurs just outside of Glacier Bay around Point Adolphus. Observe humpback whale, orca, sea lion and many species of birds, including bald eagle. The captain/naturalist shares insight on these wild animals and their unique environment.
Day 5: Ketchikan Depart by float plane to Juneau, scheduled jet to Ketchikan and float plane to the Lodge at Whale Pass on the northeast corner of Prince of Wales Island. The Lodge at Whale Pass is the premier multi-activity lodge in Alaska, with guided hiking, kayaking, mountain biking, ocean fishing, stream fishing, whale watching and bear viewing.
Days 6-7: Glacier National Park Spend the next two days indulging in the activities of your choice, including saltwater fishing for halibut or salmon, fly-fishing in freshwater streams and lakes, guided hiking, kayaking and mountain biking. Return to the lodge in the evening with plenty of time for relaxation and leisure.
Day 8: Ketchikan After a morning of activity at the lodge, fly by float plane to Ketchikan for your homebound flight.
