Tour Itinerary
DAY 1:
Settle into the charming Pine Ridge Inn in Bend, Oregon. Bend is located on the sunny side of the Cascade Mountain Range and is a popular year-round destination for people of all ages. It is known for its scenic beauty, mild climate and numerous recreational activities.
DAY 2:
Explore ancient volcanoes and lava tubes on a privately guided hike with a local naturalist at Newberry National Volcanic Monument and the Lava Lands. This afternoon, visit the nationally acclaimed High Desert Museum.
DAY 3:
Go rock climbing at world-famous Smith Rock State Park. There are several thousand climbing routes here, more than a thousand of which are bolted routes. Spend the day learning the basics from skilled and patient guides. The park also offers miles of hiking and mountain biking trails that you are free to explore. During your time in the park's canyon, you have the opportunity to see many different forms of wildlife from golden eagle, prairie falcon and mule deer to river otter and beaver.
DAY 4:
Just to the west of Bend lie the Cascade Mountains, a land of ponderosa pine forests, alpine lakes, cascading streams and snow-capped mountains. Spend the day mountain biking with your private guide on some of the best single track trails in the region. Your program can range from a leisurely, relaxing, scenic trail ride to a more challenging, technical downhill ride; your mountain biking experience will be completely customized to your skill level and ability.
DAYS 5-7:
Embark on a two-day rafting trip through the wild and scenic canyons of the Deschutes River with gourmet dining and a comfortable night under the stars in the mobile River Camp. Your tent is spacious and includes a sewn-in floor and off the ground cots, with warm sleeping bags and pillows provided for you. return to Pine Ridge Inn for a final night before your homebound flight.
