Shoot the exciting Salmon River's Lower Gorges, spending two or three hours of vigorous rafting each morning and afternoon. With an able camp staff on hand to do the chores, there is plenty of time to swim, take short hikes and listen to informative talks about the area. Sit back with a cold beverage and relax on the riverbank before your staff serves a delicious meal.

Arrive at the airport in Lewiston, Idaho, and transfer to your hotel in Clarkston, Washington. Meet with your river guides for an evening orientation to prepare for this five-day river rafting voyage through the Idaho wilderness.

DAY 2:

Transfer to White Bird, Idaho, to begin your 50-mile adventure on the Salmon River rafting through the Lower Gorges. On this first day, easy whitewater and lazy floating for the first few miles allow plenty of time to practice your paddle skills while the guides also help you spot area wildlife.

DAYS 3-5:

Board your raft and venture deeper into the lower gorges and Green Canyon where the rapids soon grow bigger. Riding the rapids is a challenge and a delight, whether you take them in as part of a crew team in a group raft or on your own in an individual inflatable kayak. You generally have two to three hours of invigorating rafting each morning and afternoon. During your journey, you traverse such famous areas as Snow Canyon and Blue Canyon, as well as the rapids known as Snowhole, Half & Half and China Bar. There are a wide variety of short hikes, historic sites and places of interest to linger - along with interpretive talks and daily lunch on the riverbank. You arrive in camp each afternoon with enough time to play a leisurely game of horseshoes or bocce ball, swim in the warm and clear water of the Salmon or simply enjoy a cold beverage before another mouth watering dinner is served. When fire restrictions allow, you can enjoy an evening campfire. On your last night in camp, join your fellow travellers for a special farewell dinner.

DAY 6:

Reach the confluence of the Salmon and Snake Rivers at midday; then board a chartered high-speed jet boat for a thrilling ride in the lower reaches of Hell's Canyon to Clarkston. Arrive in Clarkston in the late afternoon and transfer to the airport to catch your homebound flight.
