 Tutka Bay Wilderness Lodge provides guests with the opportunity to base themselves in the heart of a seaside playground. Located on a cove just a water taxi away from the picturesque community of Homer, Tutka Bay Wilderness Lodge will excite the most active traveler.
Each morning, guests can watch sea otter mothers feed and groom their fuzzy pups, explore intertidal zones at low tide for sea stars, anemones, chitons, and mussels. Throughout the day, watch for whales, sea lions, porpoises and seals from the expansive deck, the size of two basketball courts! Activities away from the Lodge can also be arranged such as trophy halibut fishing and salmon fishing, as well as kayak trips to nearby Seldovia.
As an additional activity either on the way to or from Tutka Bay Wilderness Lodge, guests may choose to spend an extraordinary day in remote Alaska with the impressive Brown Bear. Fly in a classic Dehavilland Otter floatplane, across the Cook Inlet from Homer to the Alaska Peninsula, home of the largest concentration of Brown Bears in Alaska.
Meals are served family style in the Lodge’s dining room which offers vast ocean views. Alaskan seafood feasts are guests’ favorites as well as hearty fresh breakfasts that prepare guests for upcoming adventures. Handsome cabins and suites with ocean and mountain views bring guests the comforts of home. Recent updates to the Lodge included internet access and satellite TV in the common room and two of the cabins.
