We've been working on putting together the best of the best shore excursions for you in 2003. And we're thrilled to be able to offer you a fantastic opportunity for guaranteed wildlife viewing! How would you like to feed a reindeer with your hands? Or watch a wolverine wrestle with a man the way he would with a bear in the wild? This and so much more awaits you at the brand new Kroschel Wildlife Park filled with the true pioneer spirit of Alaska.
Now, as many of you know, we never guarantee wildlife (which is why it is wild) ~ but we must make an exception for this fantastic excursion to Kroschel Wildlife Park. Just a short journey from Haines or Skagway, you will be fascinated by this incredible 40 acre wildlife park where you will be able to view Alaska native animals in their natural habitat; learn how to build a log cabin; and become part of the adventure.
Take a ride across the Lynn Fjord from Skagway or meet in Haines for this magnificent journey to see Alaska the way you've envisioned the animals and the pioneer spirit. You'll begin your spirit of adventure on our vintage 1957 Glass Roofed Crown bus with an informative 27 mile drive up the historic Haines Highway through the Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve along the banks of the Chilkat River. |

| If you really want to see bears at an affordable price, consider coming to Skagway. Although we can't guarantee wildlife (after all that's what makes it wild) we can tell you that there are bears at the River & Lake with a great deal of regularity starting in August. We do see them in June and July, but once August hits, they are much more visible. |

| This Scenic Float Trip combines a 1.8 mile hike with a Scenic Float Trip. The excursion begins with a beautiful 10-mile drive along the coast to the Dyea valley, an old Gold Rush settlement now returned to nature and within the Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park. On the hike, you will retrace the steps of the Gold Rush stampeeders on the infamous Chilkoot Trail, hiking through a moss-covered northern temperate rainforest. At the end of the one-way hike we meet the rafts for a relaxing river trip on the tranquil Taiya River. The hike is moderately difficult over uneven terrain for the first mile, then on mostly flat ground for the remainder. This tour lasts about 4 hours with approximately 45 minutes on the river. Please wear sturdy walking shoes, and dress in layers. |

| Let the pilot be your guide on this exciting excursion to remote glacier-filled valleys and the vast gold rush country beyond historic Skagway. The flight itinerary is flexible, so the pilot can select the best route according to the glacial and weather conditions that day. You'll lift off from the heliport near the Skagway harbor into a rugged region of sheer mountains and glaciers. Majestic waterfalls en route to the Ferebee Glacier, jagged peaks surrounding the Chilkat Glacier, or the dramatic Meade Glacier flowing from the Juneau Icefield, may be among the wonders you encounter. Two landings will enable you to explore the crystal clear pools, deep crevasses, and moraines. | |
Save time, money and stress! For reservations: Fill out the vacation planner to be contacted by a Skagway vacation specialist.
