Guest Rooms

Campton Place, discreetly nestled on the edge of San Francisco's centrally located Union Square, features 110 richly appointed guest rooms, including nine spacious suites. Fully modernized yet classically elegant, every convenience and comfort is easily within reach in the rooms. Window seats add cosiness to many of the guestrooms, flanked by wall sconces and soft roman blinds.

The rooms and suites, recently redesigned in a soothing palette to provide the ultimate in comfortable luxury, are light, airy, uncluttered and fitted with insulated glass windows to ensure peaceful relaxation just steps from vibrant Union Square. Handsome maplewood armoires stencilled with silver leaves house entertainment units with television and honourbar. They are complemented with Bay Bridge artwork by Larry Cohen and vintage photos of the San Francisco Palace of the Fine Arts taken from Louis J. Stellmann's book That Was A Dream Worth Building .

Vestibules and closets are lined in warm pearwood panels (suites feature cherrywood), invoking the feel of a private dressing room. Leather-topped writing desks and comfortable armchairs add functional elegance.

The bathrooms feature elegant fixtures from Germany, deep soaking tubs and sand-coloured Portuguese limestone floors with French Beauharnais limestone countertops. A full selection of toiletries is provided for even more comfort.

The décor and design of the guest rooms creates an ambience more of an impeccably designed residential oasis than a hotel accommodation.

California Rooms : These warmly decorated rooms are available on the 2^nd through 7^th floors, and each is approximately 250 sq ft. The rooms feature two double beds or a king-size bed with a duvet and cinnamon throw blanket, a limestone bathroom with a bathtub and standing shower, a comfortable armchair, and a leather-topped writing desk. A colour television and refreshment centre are enclosed within a maple wood armoire. Each room has a speakerphone equipped with data ports and a call waiting feature.

Deluxe Rooms : These spacious rooms are located on the 3^rd through 15^th floors, and each is approximately 360 sq ft. Some rooms occupy a corner location with views of Union Square. The rooms offer either two double beds or a king bed with pear wood panelling. They enjoy all the comforts of home being furnished with a love seat or chaise lounge, coffee table, armoire, and a writing desk. Two-line speakerphones with data ports accommodate business needs. Limestone bathroom features a separate shower and oversized bathtub. Select rooms are large enough to comfortably include a rollaway bed at an additional cost of $35 per night.

The Campton Suites : These six stylish corner suites located on the 2^nd through 7^th floors are warm and inviting, and each is approximately 466 sq ft. The parlour is tastefully appointed with a love seat, coffee table and writing desk. A 25" TV with on-command movies and a fully stocked refreshment centre are tucked discreetly into an elegant maple wood armoire. The adjoining bedroom features a California king bed, and window seat. An additional 25" TV is tucked into a wall unit. The room is equipped with three, two-line speakerphones with data ports. Off the bedroom is a large limestone bath with an oversized bathtub, knitted robes, slippers, and custom milled soaps. A room adjoining the parlour with a king-size bed can be added for an additional cost.

Executive Suites : The two executive suites located on the 16^th floor, are of 750 and 652 sq ft. They feature a king-size bed, a limestone bathroom with oversized shower stall and have a speakerphone equipped with data ports and call waiting feature.

Executive Suite 1601 (corner)  - The furnishings in this suite are traditionally classical, including an art easel displaying richly framed prints and books. The living area is suffused with light and overlooks Union Square. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed yet elegant. The walls are upholstered in silk wall panels.

The entry vestibule opens into the bedroom, which is separated from the spacious washroom by two glazed sliding panels. This extends the bedroom area visually, obscuring the boundaries between bed and bath. The suite is 750 sq ft.

Executive Suite 1602  - This suite is more tailored and modern in style, yet eclectic. It features a modern rendition of the sleigh bed in the bedroom, a Nancy Corzine cabinet and a Murano glass pendant light fixture in the dining room. These elements contrast with a traditional burl wood secretaire by Switzer. It is 652 sq ft.

The Luxury Suite : The entire top floor has been transformed into a spacious suite with the option of an additional adjoining room. The rich glow of silks and velours against French polished veneered woods and the carefully selected collection of art and artefacts create the aura of a gracious, elegant home.

This suite features a living area that is partially opened to a formal dining room for eight with a buffet and breakfront by Baker. A separate pantry area allows for parties or a romantic dinner. Tucked away behind glass doors off the dining room is a wood-panelled library/study that offers the perfect spot for an after-dinner cigar or cognac.

This cosy hideaway has an oversized, leather lounge chair by Switzer for reading. It is fully equipped and wired as an office with an ISDN line, printer, fax machine and two-line speakerphones.

The bedroom features a draped, four-poster bed by Initials, and is luxuriously swathed in silks and strewn with pillows. Egyptian cotton sheets and glass bedside lamps by Donghia provide a warm and comfortable refuge. The luxury suite is 1107 sq ft.

Campton Place Bar
Campton Place Bar, warmed by the richness of deep auburn madrona wood and the elegance of plush caramel-coloured leather, is a comfortable meeting place with the ambience of a club. It is perfect for a business engagement as it is for a friendly gathering or romantic rendezvous. After a high-energy day in the city, the bar is a comfortable oasis of relaxation and refreshment, the perfect backdrop for a memorable occasion or a reflective moment.

In addition to a full bar serving extensive menus of specialty cocktails and fine wines by the glass, the bar offers delicious bistro-style food. Campton Place Bar is located adjacent to the restaurant.

Campton Place Restaurant, the fine dining restaurant, serves modern French cuisine that masterfully blends Mediterranean flavours, classical techniques and the richness of California’s ever-changing wonderfully fresh seasonal bounty. An extensive wine list is offered to complement the meal.

The lunch and dinner menus, which change with the seasons, feature a choice of gourmet specialities. At dinner, in addition to three and four course menu options, a special seven course tasting menu is also available. Post-entrée, the restaurant offers a cheese course presenting a revolving selection of farmhouse and artisan cheeses, served tableside. The restaurant received four stars from The San Francisco Chronicle in 2005, and a 1,000-varietal wine list crowned the achievement.

The restaurant’s crisp colour scheme of cream, gold and dark chocolate executed in clean, contemporary lines is tempered by soft touches and accented with commissioned work by renowned Bay Area artists. Private dining is also available.
