The Lodge at Vail

Opening in late 2007, the 7,725-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility will feature 11 treatment rooms, seven massage rooms and world-class facilities; all at the base of Vail Mounain.

The Lodge at Vail Accommodations

Renowned for relaxed luxury and impeccable personal service, experiencing The Lodge at Vail begins with our variety of 165 diverse and luxurious guest rooms.

Our 79 intimate hideaways invite you to unwind in rustic elegance as you take in a glorious mountain or village view. The little touches are what set our rooms apart: antique armoires, high-backed leather chairs, hairdryers, humidifiers, and thick terry robes.

If you prefer all the comforts of home, or maybe a few you've never thought of, choose one of our 46 suites with one, two, or three bedrooms. Although no two are alike, each exudes the warmth and comfort of a mountainside inn. All suites are well equipped with wood-burning fireplaces and private walk-out balconies.

Lodge Room
Lodge Rooms are individually decorated and have either a king or two double beds. Views vary.

Studio Room
Studio Rooms are individually decorated and feature a fully equipped kitchen, and a wood-burning fireplace. Studio Rooms feature Murphy beds with a regular queen-sized mattress. Most Studio Rooms have a balcony; views vary.

Deluxe Room
Deluxe Rooms feature elegant mountain decor, a king bed or two queen beds, an LCD flat-screen TV and a marble bathroom with towel warmers. Most Deluxe Rooms have a balcony; views vary.

Luxury Room
Luxury Rooms, located in the Lodge's International Wing, have either a king or two queen beds and views of either Vail Mountain or The Wildflower courtyard. Each features an oversized bathroom with separate tub and shower, a double vanity and heated marble floors.

Executive Suite
Executive Suites are elegantly decorated and feature a master bedroom, bathroom and living area. Views vary. To book this room

One Bedroom Condominium Suite
One Bedroom Condominium Suites feature a fully equipped kitchen, living area with wood-burning fireplace, balcony, bedroom with either a king or two double beds, two bathrooms and most have a murphy bed. Each is individually decorated; views vary.To book this room,

Deluxe One Bedroom Suite
Deluxe One Bedroom Suites features a bedroom with king bed; an oversized bathroom with separate tub and shower, double vanity and heated marble floor; and a separate sitting area with gas fireplace, and a wet bar. Each suite also offers direct views of Vail Mountain.

Luxury One Bedroom Suite
Luxury One Bedroom Suites are slightly larger than Deluxe One Bedroom Suites. Each features a bedroom with king bed; an oversized bathroom with separate tub and shower, double vanity and heated marble floor; and a separate sitting area with gas fireplace, wet bar, walk-in closet and additional powder room. This exquisitely decorated penthouse suite features three bedrooms with three en suite marble bathrooms, two private terraces, a fully-equipped kitchen, and an elegant alpine living area with hardwood floors with a fireplace. The penthouse also boasts some of the most spectacular views of Vail Mountain

Game Creek Chalet
Located 2,000 feet above Vail Village, nestled in the glades of Vail's Game Creek Bowl, rests the cozy newly-remodeled  Game Creek Chalet. This ski-in/ski-out, three-bedroom plus an entertainment room, five-bath, European-style retreat features a fireplace, outdoor hot tub, private chef and breathtaking views of the Vail Valley. The Lodge at Vail Dining

The Lodge at Vail offers two exceptional restaurants, a live entertainment bar, and outstanding banquet facilities. Join us and experience the very best food, wine, and service available in a variety of intimate settings.

Our signature restaurant, The Wildflower, allows you to experience a rare epicurean treat. Enjoy a romantic dinner for two overlooking the snow-covered mountain or dine on the terrace alfresco amid the fragrance of wildflowers and playful hummingbirds.

Cucina Rustica, serving breakfast year-round and dinner throughout the winter months, is the epitome of alpine warmth. The restaurant features a dark wooden interior, colorful china, limestone fireplace, and leather couch, exuding a feeling of comfort and tranquility. 

Mickey's Bar is a true Vail institution with real local flavor. Mickey Poage, our very own pianist, has been delighting generations of guests as his fingers dance across the ebony and ivory of the grand piano that permanently rests near our fireplace. After a day on the slopes, this cozy setting is the perfect place to relax, enjoy a drink, and soak up live apres-ski entertainment.

Outdoor Adventures

Adventure Ridge
Located at Eagle’s Nest, on the top of Vail Mountain, Adventure Ridge is the ultimate high-elevation playground. It offers a variety of fun-filled activities for all ages, including dino dig, laser tag, half-day bike tours, guided hiking tours, orienteering, Frisbee golf, volleyball, bocci, croquet, horseshoes, a BMX course, rebound trampoline, and more. If this is not enough, the base of Lionshead also features minigolf and a climbing wall.

Golf
The Vail Valley is renowned for its many unique and intriguing mountain courses—13 at last count. As a guest of The Lodge at Vail, you'll enjoy exclusive access to the new, award-winning Red Sky Ranch, with courses designed by Tom Fazio and Greg Norman. Our concierge will be more than happy to arrange a tee time for you at Red Sky Ranch or one of the other world-class Vail Valley courses

Whitewater Rafting
Whether rafting on the Arkansas, Shoshone, Eagle, or mighty Colorado River, you'll experience a rush of adrenaline while witnessing the breathtaking majesty of the Colorado Rocky Mountains.

Hot-Air Ballooning
Skim the tree tops and float above the Rockies with one of Vail's professional ballooning companies. For the best conditions (and the most spectacular views), be prepared for an early start—around 7:30-8 a.m.!

Fishing
The Vail Valley is packed with exceptional locations for fly fishing, and local outfitters have become world-famous for the quality of their trips. Guides in the area offer first-time casting classes for folks new to the sport, as well as trips for expert anglers into some of the Rocky Mountains' super-secret fishing holes.

Horseback Rides and Cattle Drives
Experience Colorado’s breathtaking scenery on horseback! Several local ranches provide equestrian thrills that range from children's tours to trail breaking. And if you've ever dreamed of life as a cowboy or a cowgirl, try a real cattle drive. (Half-day and full-day tours are available.)

Hummer Tours
If you want a more comfortable seat than a saddle, there's no better way to enjoy the majesty of the White River National Forest than by cruising the mountains in a 4x4 Jeep or an infamous Hummer.

Hiking/Walking
Whether you are an experienced hiker ready to take on a Colorado "14er," or just looking to take a leisurely stroll through Vail’s Bavarian-style village, the Vail Valley offers unprecedented views and breathtaking sights. Guided services are available if you like adventure but haven’t a clue how to read a compass; for more information, please contact our concierge.

Mountain Biking
Mountain biking has become one of Vail's most popular summer outdoor activities. Rent a bike at Vail Sports (a rental shop located adjacent to the hotel), take the Vista Bahn Chair or the gondola up the hill, and enjoy a scenic ride down. Or, if you're looking for an extra-challenging workout, bike up one of the mountain trails, as well!

Sporting Clays
Just 30 minutes away lies a state-of-the-art, twelve-station “sporting clays" course set in some of Colorado’s most dramatic scenery. One of the country’s most challenging courses, it is fully automated and professionally designed. Whether you're an adventurous novice needing instruction or a seasoned shooter, this topnotch sporting clays course has something for you.

The Betty Ford Alpine Gardens
Explore the beautiful alpine gardens located in Ford Park, just a short walk east of the lodge.

Outdoor and indoor courts are available nearby. 

Winter Activities

Adventure Ridge
By taking the Lionshead Gondola (rides are free after 2 p.m.), you can access a winter playground for all ages. There are a number of exciting activities that will delight adults and children alike, including kid's snowmobiling, snowshoeing, snow biking,  tubing, and more.

Skiing and Snowboarding
With 33 chairlifts and over 5,200 acres of terrain, located just steps from our back door, it's no wonder that Vail is North America's #1 ski resort.

Dog Sledding
Many have watched this activity on TV, but the real thing is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. A sled pulled by a team of dogs will take you through the breathtaking scenery of the national forest. Tours last about four hours and include a snack while you're on the trail. Transportation to and from the lodge is provided.

Snowmobiling
There are numerous snowmobile tours offered by local guides who can show you the White River National Forest from a whole new perspective. Tours last from one to six hours, and transportation and gear are provided. For the more experienced rider, unguided snowmobile rentals are also available.

Snowshoeing
By strapping a couple of state-of-the-art snowshoes to your feet, you can enjoy the mountain day and night without skis or a snowboard. The Vail Nordic Center offers snowshoe rentals and guided tours. The Lodge at Vail can also arrange independent guides that operate in the White River National Forest and provide transportation to and from the lodge. Hot-Air Ballooning
Skim the tree tops for a bird's-eye view of the spectacular, snowcapped Colorado Rocky Mountains. For the best views, depart around 6:00 a.m. and watch the sun rise above the peaks.

Backcountry Skiing
There are numerous independent guides that offer telemark and cross-country trips into the national forest. Transportation to and from the lodge is provided.

Cross-country Skiing
The Vail Nordic Center maintains a groomed track and offers cross-country

The True West
Four Eagle Ranch, a local working ranch, offers horseback riding, nightly Western-style sleigh rides, and dinners.

Sleigh Rides
Enjoy an evening sleigh ride with the entire family and, if you like, have a wonderful dinner provided, as well.

Snow Cat Tours
Sign up for a Snow Cat tour and experience great nature and wildlife viewing. Tours are offered by local companies, and transportation to and from the lodge is included.

Sledding
Meadow Mountain, a fifteen-minute drive west of Vail, is the local sledding hot spot!

Indoor Adventures

Tennis
Outdoor and indoor tennis courts are available nearby.

Ice Skating
Indoor and outdoor ice skating are available daily, weather permitting.

Museums and Theaters

The Ski Museum
Take a peek at the history of alpine skiing and snowboarding. Learn about the people who made it all happen! The Colorado Ski Museum is located in the Vail Transportation Center. (Donations accepted.


Spa

The new RockResorts Spa  at The Lodge at Vail, which will be adjacent to the lodge’s existing buildings, will reflect an intimate and elegant Colorado feel, with rustic vanities, warm colors and textures, and stylish stone and wood décor and accents.

Scheduled to open in June 2008, the 7,500-square-foot, state-of-the-art spa will feature 11 treatment rooms, to include a luxurious couples’ treatment room with a soaking tub for two, a wet treatment room, two facial rooms, and seven massage rooms.  The spa will offer men and women's locker rooms with steam, sauna, whirl pools, a separate women’s relaxation lounge and a large co-ed relaxation lounge.  It will also feature a 3,500-square-foot fitness complex, including a fitness center with top-of-the-line LifeFitness equipment and a movement studio for yoga, stretch and Pilates.
