1 Day Hanzell Sherpa Tour Package
Duration: 1 day Priced From: Contact Travelwizard

Hanzell Vineyards was founded in 1953 with a vision of making great Californian wine of intensity, grace and longevity. Today, as yesterday, Hanzell Vineyards grows and hand-crafts Chardonnay and Pinot, in the tradition of artisan winemaking, from their estate vineyards that drape the steep hillsides next to their classic 1950s winery.
You will arrive at Hanzell, located 800 feet high in the Mayacamas Mountains, north of the picturesque town of Sonoma, for an unforgettable 2 ½ hour hiking tour with Nepalese Sherpa guides.
Sherpa experts, Gen and Nimo, have guided numerous expeditions climbing Mount Everest and will lead this adventurous hike along with Hanzell winemakers. Gen and Nimo will discuss extreme climbing and their collective experiences on reaching the summit of the Earth’s tallest peak. Additionally, winemakers will share the effects of steep terrain on vines and wines. This unique journey allows guests to learn the history of this distinctive winery while exploring the beauty of the Wine Country’s mountainous region. This hiking tour includes base camp instructions, the beautiful reward of Hanzell Chardonnay upon reaching the summit, and a deliciously catered picnic lunch married with Hanzell award-winning varietals.
