The Sea Island Yacht Club offers Coastal Georgia fishing and nature tours of all kinds. A fleet of six custom boats was designed for fishing and touring the Georgia Coast, and a beautifully restored vintage yacht cruises the local waterways.
- In Shore Fishing: Cruise through the marshes in search of trout, redfish, flounder, and whiting. Whether fly fishing from Sea Island’s shallow water flat boats in search of the tailing redfish or traveling a creek for a big school of speckled trout, guests will love this experience.
- Near Shore Fishing: The area around Sea Island boasts some of the best fishing on the East Coast. Fish the beaches from Cumberland Island to Sapelo Island for tarpon, shark, bull redfish, or tripletail. These trips also offer a wonderful view of the beautiful coastline.
- Off Shore Fishing: Enjoy bottom fishing over an artificial reef. Guests can also live-bait fish for mackerel, cobia, barracuda, and sailfish.
- Kids’ Trips: Sea Island offers a two-hour fishing trip perfect for introducing kids to sport fishing. The boats have high sides while the captains teach, bait hooks, cast, and do everything needed to ensure children a great time on the water.
- Fishing and Crabbing: Rental equipment is available to fish and crab off of the dock. A dock hand is available during the summer. Common catches include blue crab, whiting, croaker, trout, puppy shark, and yellow tails.
- Vintage Yacht Cruises on Cloister Belle: Climb aboard the 71-foot Cloister Belle, a restored classic vintage yacht, for scenic, leisurely journeys through local island waterways. Regularly scheduled cruises offer spectacular sunsets across the golden marshes. Available for private charter.

Throughout the year, professionally planned and supervised age-appropriate children’s programming is the highlight of a family visit to Sea Island Resorts. During the summer, spring break, and holidays, the Junior Staff at this Georgia family resort devote full attention to imaginative, interactive activities while parents enjoy Sea Island’s other amenities. This special team of college students is carefully selected for their leadership skills and enthusiasm to serve as role models for young guests. Most of Sea Island’s Georgia family vacation programs require reservations in advance.
- Camp Cloister is open daily except Sunday and select holidays. Directed activities are offered year-round for children ages 3-12. Each day explores a different theme, from pirates and fish to frogs and birds, through games, crafts, and activities. Fee includes lunch.
- Club Sea Island is designed exclusively for pre-teens, ages 9-12, looking for more exciting adventures during spring break and summertime visits. From ocean kayaking to field trips around the area, Club Sea Island is about discovery and creating new friendships.
- Cookie Cutters create, bake, and decorate cookies on Saturdays. Children get personalized chef hats and can take home their creations.
- Children's Dinner kid-friendly menus and activities change nightly. While parents experience Sea Island’s fine dining, children ages 3-12 can enjoy dinner with one another. Offered Friday and Saturday evenings throughout the year with additional weeknights seasonally.
- Air Rifle Bull’s-Eye Hour is a blast every afternoon (except Sunday) at the Shooting School. This popular activity for children ages 5-12 stresses gun safety and shooting instruction.

- The Stables offer tiny tyke tours and horsemanship clinics while welcoming families to visit and share treats with the horses.
- Junior Golf and Tennis Clinics teach club sport skills and good sportsmanship.
- Fishing and Crabbing off The Cloister dock is a Sea Island tradition. Fishing trips to introduce kids to sport fishing can be arranged through the Yacht Club as well.
- Scavenger Hunts, ping pong tournaments, tie-dye on the beach, and sandcastle competitions round out the all-American fun.
- Bingo on Tuesday and Thursday nights.

A Georgia Shooting School That Ranks Among America’s Best
The art of clay target shooting is a treasured tradition at Sea Island Resorts, whose Georgia shooting school is among the nation’s best. The facilities of this Southeast shooting camp include a competitive five-stand sporting clay field, two skeet ranges, and a trap field. The Shooting School staff features three NSCA-certified instructors and one NSSA-certified instructor. Private or group lessons are offered for experts and novices. Skeet, trap, and five-stand practice sessions are available for experienced shooters. The 10 stations at nearby Rainbow Island Sporting Clays Course take shooters on a stunning mile-long nature walk.
