Black Holocaust Museum
Public tours Saturdays 3:00 ? 4:00 p.m., group tours by appointment. Housed in the Shrine of the Black Madonna Cultural Center and Bookstore. The museum is a memorial to the more than the millions African souls who were captured, sold and brutalized in the slave trade. It contains a collection of compelling documents, photographs, narratives, and artifacts from the slave trade, a reproduction of a slave cabin as well as dramatic, highly emotional portrayals of the African slave experience.

The event is a family affair which offers free national and local talent on four stages, over 35 Michigan restaurants selling "tastes" of their specialties, free stage shows, activities for children, and a marketplace of unique Detroit products and memorabilia. TasteFest is free and open to the public.
