The Lake Placid Lodge recreates the glory days of the late 1800s, when visitors vacationed in the Adirondacks in the most luxurious of rustic quarters. The Lodge is two miles from the heart of the village; though you'd never know it once on the property.

The Lodge's seventeen guest rooms and seventeen lakefront cabins, named for the region's high peaks and lakes, are filled with rustic twig and birch bark furniture, richly hued and textured fabrics, Adirondack antiques, oriental carpets, and artwork created by local artisans. All guest rooms have large stone wood-burning fireplaces, and all have private baths, most with deep soaking tubs and double headed showers. A hearty Adirondack breakfast is included in your room rate along with afternoon tea and nightly turndown service.

The Lake Placid Lodge has a very special dining room - rustically elegant with sweeping views of Lake Placid and Whiteface Mountain. The menu features sophisticated American cuisine with a natural Adirondack flair. The Wine Cellar is an exquisite location for private dinner parties for up to 12 people. This 4,000 bottle wine cellar features wines ranging from modest to illustrious. A European-style buffet breakfast is served daily, or continental breakfast can be delivered to your room. The Pub has a large selection of micro-brewed and local beers and offers Adirondack-style fare every afternoon and evening. Afternoon Tea Service, Box lunches and elegant picnics are also available.

Adjacent to the property is an eighteen-hole golf course with four tennis courts close by. There are canoes and antique wooden boats for exploring the lake and mountain bikes on which to take to the trails. When the snow flies it creates a winter playground perfect for cross-country and alpine skiing, skating and sledding.
