New York City has five boroughs that are very unique: The Bronx, Queens, Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Staten Island. Manhattan is the smallest, densest, oldest and most built up borough, covering 28 square miles, 3 mile wide and 12 miles long. The area south of 14th Street is called downtown. Midtown is between 34th and 59th street. Uptown is north of 59th Street, is the office district and where Times Square is.
