The Willcox strives to perfect the art of Southern hospitality. Built In 1898, The Willcox provides elegant accommodations in the heart of historic downtown Aiken. Every winter, the well-heeled of the Guilded Age came to Aiken seeking horse racing, fox hunting, and high society. The Willcox was the most stately of the hotels that sprang up to serve them. FDR would ride his private train car to the back door and slip in quietly.
Today, as grand and graceful as ever, the Willcox's quiet, sumptuous bedrooms, high ceilings, fireplaces, cream-papered walls and dark wood invite repose. Every room is unique and all have sitting areas with restful, generous beds, blanketed in cool, clean linen. They are elegantly appointed with period antiques, high ceilings with crown moldings, luxurious featherbeds and pillows, and serviced by housekeeping twice each day. All suites and most guest rooms have fireplaces. The bathrooms are chapels to water, soap and lotion, with deep soaking tubs, double sinks, stacks of thick towels and plush robes.

A spirit of southern hospitality prevails at the Willcox. Guests may choose either our complimentary full breakfast, served daily in our dining room from 7am - 10am, or fresh fruits, muffins, & hot beverages from our Antique hutches, located in each guest corridor, from 6:30am - 10:30am. Our dining areas are open to the public for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner.
