You were right about the staff at the Plaza. They were incredibly helpful and attentive. They sent a lovely birthday cake up to my room when they heard that I was celebrating my birthday. One of the bellmen even brought camera batteries up to my room when he heard my youngest son complaining about his camera being dead. They really went out of their way to make our stay special. I especially appreciate all of your help with the shopping portion of my trip . You were so kind to listen to all of my concerns and to help calm my fears by arranging a phone visit with Kathleen (the personal shopper) prior to my trip. There is no way that I could have accomplished my goals without Kathleen’s assistance and I certainly couldn’t have found Kathleen on my own. She was very professional, helpful and knowledgeable. You always seem to find the best guides and places to stay! It was difficult for me to plan a trip for myself instead of the whole family. Thank you for helping to make it so special! I look forward to planning our next family adventure with you!!! The boys are excited too. The trouble, as usual for us, will be narrowing down the choices and deciding where and when to go. I really do appreciate all of your help and your patience with me as it seems to take me forever to make final decisions. This last trip really was different because it was about me which made it more difficult. I have to say that I felt like a beautiful princess after the day with Kathleen. Tawney and I felt like Cinderella when we got back to the hotel after the Broadway show Memphis, just wishing that the clock wouldn’t strike midnight. That was a day neither one of us wanted to end.

Even out of season the service and attention is top flight and their Brandt Point Grille is a choice of fine dinning or a more casual though eloquent bar atmosphere. Incredible raw oysters, clam chowder and fresh lobster martinis. Beautiful suite and with the ever changing weather in Nantucket this time of year, the fireplace is a real treat. Had a tough day coming home due to the bad weather all along the east coast. Thanks for your note. Our trip went very well. We did not get lost once which we really amazed us because we are not driving people. We had no issues whatsoever. Our hotel accommodations were all outstanding. A couple of times we upgraded a little because we were so spoiled already. We really had superb rooms and seemed to get out to very good restaurants. Did a number of touristy things, but also a fair bit of just walking about. My personal favourite was San Francisco. It thought it had all the good stuff of big cities without the traffic and attitude, unlike LA. We will for sure recommend you to others when they are making travel plans – it worked so well for us. And, thanks for the little cakes – I had a great time eating my way through John’s b’day treats! Thanks again and for sure we will call when we plan our next trip – nothing currently in the hopper. Just a short note to thank you for your help in sorting out our trip. We had a great time with excellent locations selected. But for the weather in San Fran, it would have been perfect (still we made up for it with plenty of fun on the excursions and tips). To help you with other Clients, thought I'd do a quick run down on the resorts... 1. Disney - what we expected...nice and clean albeit a little dated (probably needs a lick of paint and new carpet in the rooms...and that was before my kids got in there !). 2. Pelican Resort - loved it...everything about it. The staff, the location, the whole set up. Would go back in a heartbeat. Only problem here was that we had USD 100 credit for food etc but didn't get it taken off the bill at the end (I forgot)...do you think I should raise this with them ? We did eat at the hotel 3 times.... 3. The Clement - nice room, friendly staff. Didn't need any more time there. 4. Ritz Carlton - great room and the Club Lounge was a hit. Thought the housekeepers were a bit lazy as they failed to make up the sofa bed from the moment we asked them to set it up (not like Pelican where they insisted on setting the whole room daily). 5. Meadowood - loved it. Great location and a great place. Staff incredibly attentive to us and our needs and happy to recommend placed outside of the resort for dinner. In fact here are 3 great restaurants if you are up there at all...Cindy's Backstreet Kitchen, Tra Vigne and Go Fish. All terrific. Loved the castle too. We'll be sure to use you again ! The Heritage Tour was great (EXCEPT FOR THE HEAT & HUMIDITY) made better by our Collette Tour Director Diane and Driver Bobby.
Besides us the only other foreigners were a couple from Derby England and the rest were from the USA (only 22 in the tour group overall).
As this was our first tour in the USA we had the advantage of talking with locals from right across the nation.
The only bad experience we had was with our hotel in Washington most of the tour group had views across the Pentagon, river and monuments we unfortunately looked the other way to the wall of another hotel.
New York was brilliant, we climbed the Empire State Building, cruised past the Statue of Liberty, experience Harlem and Brooklyn and enjoyed every minute.
We really appreciate all your help and will recommend Travel Wizard and especially you Paul if any family or friends are considering coming to the States for their holidays and of course we will contact you when we next plan to visit the USA.

Dear Sharon WE LOVED the Palace Hotel The room was great. Our view was of St. Patrick’s cathedral. We could see the tree and the skating rink as well from the room. Very friendly staff. I didn’t tell her where we were going, and told her I would pack her bag. I went Friday morning and bought her that dress you saw, plus shoes a bag and some items to wear underneath as well. Janet got off work early. We left her house at 2 and were in our suite by 4:30. I packed a bag of hiking boots, gloves, long johns and gloves so we could go for a walk that night. We went to Rockefeller plaza. Than up Got up Saturday at 9:30 to “in room” breakfast. Took another walk around the City. “In-room” lunch @ 2. Massages @ 3. Nap. Daniel @ 8. I had my concerns about Daniel being a “snooty” French restaurant, but I am happy to say I was wrong. Daniel came to our table for a minute and introduced himself. We ordered a three course dinner and 9 courses later (3 hours) they rolled us out of there. They kept bringing us complimentary things to try. It was fabulous! We had so much fun and truly took advantage of the Full park days with 3 kids - solo - was exhausting, but I wouldn't change a I really liked our resort. But first and foremost, i wanted to say THANK YOU! for the bottle of Tattinger's waiting for us at the Ritz when we arrived back in New York after our long flight from London. It was the best refreshment I have ever had! And so thoughtful of you as always. There was a beautiful note from the management and a specally printed c that said "Happy Anniversary Steve and Michael" -- we got a kick out of that and decided yes, from now to celebrate our anniversary on June 4, to mark this splendid occasion.
The staff at the Ritz was impeccable -- they welcomed us by name as soon as we walked in, and couldn't do enough to make sure we were comfortable. I loved staying at the Ritz Carlton in Boston when I was a kid and have always wanted to stay at the NYC Central Park Ritz and our experience there reminded me so much of the graciousness of the Boston Ritz from so many years ago. Probably one of the lovliest places to stay from the standpoint of comfort and connvenience. They just take pains to make you feel at home and special.
ven though their dining room is still closed for renovations, we had an incredible late supper and breakfast in their beautiful cocktail lounge that were perfectly prffparee and served. As I was still 'coming down' from my addiction to uropean Cafe au lait, Ias hesitant to order it here in NYC -- but I did anyway and they made it perfectly. What a sweet surprise. Next time, I think we do something like this coming back from a long flight, I will remember to add on an extra day so that we can rest bit more and also enjoy the spa at the hotel as one more way to re-acclimate to the rigors of real life!
Back in Paris: the Lafayette tour guide and driver you arranged for us were incredible -- every bit as knowledgeable (brilliant, actually), helpful, friendly and accommodattng as the arrangements in enice and Rome. To me, tour guides and private arrangements of this calibre truly turn these trips into extraodinary experiences -- they completely eliminate the hassle of trying to do these things on one's own, make superb use of time and add an immense element of quality to the experience overall. We always end up becoming good friends with our tour guides. Our guide in Paris was Valerie (cannot recall her last name and she was out of cards) -- she was delightful in every way. These guides and cars are worth every centime they charge. Thank you so much for making these arrangments for us.
Our next project that will take us around the globe is a TV project that Michael and I are developing on our own -- an eight-part series that travels to California, Mexico, the Carribbean, Virginia, NYC, Boston, Europe, Hong Kong and Shanghai. If you have a few minutes sometime, I would enjoy explaining a bit more about it with you. Until then, I hope you are having a great weekend -- what's left of it. The weather here this weekend is superb, so I need to get back outside and mix up few more mrgaritas!
