The State of Tamil Nadu in located in the southern tip of India facing Sri Lanka. This is where the Tamil people have lived since 500BC. Chennai is the Capital and biggest city in this state.

Tourism here ranks second in India because of its incredible natural beauty, historical and cultural attractions, important archeological wonders and its world renowned beaches. Marina Beach is very big–stretching from Chennai to Mahabalipuram. The section is home to some of the finest resorts, luxury villas and fine restaurants in the world.

Two of the most exciting tiger reserves in India are located in the Mukurthi National Park & Kalakkad Mundanthurai Tiger Reserve. There are a lot of National Parks and wildlife sanctuaries in Tamil Nadu: Elephant and Bird Sanctuaries, Reserved Forests, Zoos and Crocodile farms. Prominent among them are Mudumalai National Park, The Gulf of Mannar Biosphere Reserve, Indira Gandhi Wildlife Sanctuary and National Park, Vedanthangal Bird Sanctuary and Arignar Anna Zoological Park.
