Naranjo
To the west of Alajuela, approximately five kilometers out of Sarchi, the road reaches the sleepy rural village of Naranjo. Its snow-white church, constructed in 1923, is an adventurous cocktail of neoclassical and NeoBaroque design elements. But even here, the 1991 earthquake left a path of destruction, still visible in the Parque Central with its towering mango trees.
