Domaine de Verchant
This 5 star luxury hotel and spa contains 26 luxury bedrooms and apartments, and beautifully combines simple, stylish contemporary furniture with the charm and character of antique stone. All the alterations were carried out by Raymond Morel, who had redesigned the prestigious Murano and Kube private mansions in Paris.
The decoration of the Domaine de Verchant reflects the varied influences of Italian designers including Poltrona, Moroso, Casa Milano and Nanimarquina. Meanwhile, the facilities are resolutely geared towards the hi-tech, with ergonomic, top quality equipment.
1582: a key date in the history of the Domaine
On 1 February 1582, the Bishop of Montpellier granted Pierre De Verchant a “domaine”, or estate, which took on his name, and remained in his family for two centuries.
On 23 September 1878, Jules Leenhardt acquired the site and the mansion inspired by the I8th century “Folies Montpelliéraines” built in the heart of the exceptional park. He lavished particular attention on the latter, calling in the Bühler brothers, who were eminent Swiss landscape architects of the time.
To establish the European reputation of the farm and vineyard, 60,000 American vines were introduced to the 45-hectare VERCHANT vineyard, where today we still invite visitors to come and sample our vintage wines all year round.
Restaurant
Breakfast – Whether at the buffet, with room service, in the garden area on your bedroom terrace, as soon as you wake up you can enjoy the delicious treats prepared each day by our chef, accompanied by a wide choice of teas and coffees from our breakfast menu. Our restaurant is open every day of the week.
Lunch – At lunchtime, in association with Jacques and Laurent Pourcel, the Domaine de Verchant offers you a menu full of Southern flavors. A set menu will also be available each day. Our restaurant is available with a reservation on 04 67 07 26 00, and is open every day of the week.

Events
We are located in the heart of an exceptional environment, and offer several solutions for seminars, meetings and receptions.
Our adaptable prestige reception area of around 500 m² with a capacity for 600 people is the ideal setting for conferences, gala evenings, product launches and special events.
For weddings and birthday celebrations, the Domaine de Verchant offers you a prestigious and magical setting. Our listed one-hectare park means that you can entertain your guests in a very special venue.
Spa
Located in the heart of a 17-hectare vineyard, Verchant le Spa is a private club covering 750 m2, unique of its kind in Montpellier. Designed by Chantal and Pierre Mestre, this “place apart” is just like their hotel: a designer setting combining luxury and well-being, and a haven dedicated to care of mind and body alike (with Anne Semonin and Valmont products).
Vineyard
At Verchant, with the long history of our estate behind us, we focus all our efforts on maintaining our wines and ensuring that they flourish. Surrounding the Château, the 17- hectare Verchant vineyard contains among others red Syrah and Grenache vines from the Mediterranean, and Merlot, Cabernet franc and Petit Verdot vines from Bordeaux. 10% of the vineyard is devoted to white grapes, with traditional Roussane, Viognier and Vermentino vines. Throughout the estate, old vines rub shoulders with more recently planted ones, and we have adopted the double cordon “Royat” pruning associated with wooden post trellises.
