Keomoku Village

Keomoku Village is on the windward northeast coast of the island. Keomoku is marked by the presence of an old church along this isolated area of the island. The Maunalei Sugar Company in the 1890s began an extensive effort to raise sugar along the coast.

However, the company failed. In the early 20th century, the Gay family utilized Keomoku as the coastal headquarters for their cattle and sheep ranch. But by 1954 all ranch operations had ceased and the remaining Keomoku population moved up to Lana`i City.

Now Lanai in home to two of the top resorts in Hawaii, the Four Season Koele Lodge and the Four Seasons Manele Bay Resort. These are fabulous luxury resorts!
