Wednesday afternoon arrive in Beijing, the political, economic and cultural center of the People’s Republic of China. Enjoy VIP elite arrival service before you are whisked off to your accommodations in the heart of the city.

Thursday explore the vast Tiananmen Square and the Imperial Palace, also known as the Forbidden City. Enjoy exclusive access to the Chonghua Palace (The Palace of Double Glory), normally off limits to the public and filled with priceless treasures.

Take a private boat ride on Kunming Lake to reach the  Summer Palace, the rest and recreation area of the Royal Families of China for more than a thousand years. Returning to Beijing, stop by the 2008 Olympic sites, the Bird’s Nest and Water Cube.

Attend a performance of the Beijing Opera, which combines song, dance, mime and acrobatics, with  special backstage access.



Walk along a portion of the 5,500 mile-long Great Wall, which was built as a defense against invaders from the north, and later became a conduit of communication, with news and orders carried by the armies that traveled it.


Explore the Temple of Heaven; built in 1420 AD during the Ming Dynasty. Here you also have the opportunity to learn the gentle art of Taiji by a Taiji master.

The St. Regis Tianjin

If you have previously visited Beijing, you may opt to spend these three nights in Tianjin. Depart directly from Beijing airport on your drive of approximately two hours to Tianjin, located near the coast. The Treaty of Tianjin, signed in 1856, gave Europeans the right to establish nine concessionary bases along the banks of the Hai River for setting up trade.  Thus, large numbers of foreign villas and mansions were constructed in Tianjin during the late Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). Explore these former concession streets  and discover the fascinating juxtaposition of European and Chinese architecture.

Visit the Shi Family Mansion, built in 1875 which now houses the Yangliuqing Museum and The Porcelain House, also known as the “China House”, a French-style building with a history of over 100 years. Tianjin will also indulge you with almost all eight of the classical Chinese cuisines, of which seven types can be enjoyed in Food Street; undoubtedly  each cuisine is a feast for your pallet.

On Friday visit the Tianjin Museum. The unique architectural style of the museum, whose appearance resembles that of a swan spreading its wings, has made this one of the city’s iconic buildings. Continue to the Tianjin Culture Center, showcasing it’s culture, people, and ecology.

Discover Singapore’s heritage, making your first stop at the European settlement along the Singapore River. ACM houses a modest but nevertheless appropriately significant open exhibition that features interesting vignettes and artifacts tracing Singapore’s early history as tied to the River’s existence.

Explore Singapore’s new Bay of Gardens and step into the spectacular and  innovative Flower Dome. Stop and smell the flowers in the colorful changing displays of the Flower Field, which reflects different seasons and themes.   Soothe tired feet with a unique Fish Spa therapy session.

The St. Regis Mauritius

Board your luxury Private Jet and continue across the Indian Ocean to the island of Mauritius where your luxury ocean view suite awaits you.

Begin your exploration in the southwest of the island with a visit to the village of Chamarel, home to  the island’s most famous natural wonders – the magnificent Chamarel waterfall and the Seven-Colored Earths. Unique colored earths with their rainbow set of colors evolved from the conversion of basaltic lava to clay minerals. This relatively small area of sand dunes is made of  seven distinct colors of sand, and is beautifully carved, creating an effect of earthen meringue.

Continue to explore Ganga Talao, a crater lake about 1800 feet above sea level in a secluded mountain area in the district of Savanne, deep in the heart of Mauritius.  It is considered to be the most sacred Hindu place on the island.  During Shivaratri, many pilgrims in Mauritius walk bare feet from their homes to the lake. Marvel at the temple with its colorful statues dedicated to Lord Shiva and other Gods including Hanuman, Lakshmi, and others along the Grand Bassin.   Here nature and men seem to coexist peacefully amongst the abundant flora and fauna.


North Mauritius

Explore the botanical garden of Pamplemousses, famous for its plants brought from all over the world. Discover the Victoria Amazonica, the largest of water lilies. Continue to the capital city of Port Louis and visit the Blue Penny Museum for a captivating glimpse into the art and history of Mauritius. Sheraton Addis, A Luxury Collection Hotel

Enjoy a lavish lunch onboard your Private Jet flight to Ethiopia, one of the world’s oldest countries, once known as the “Hidden Empire”. Upon arrival in Addis Ababa, transfer to your luxury hotel.

Rise early for a short local charter flight over amazing rust-colored canyons to Lalibela. The small town of Lalibela is situated high in the Lasta Mountains at over 8,500 feet and is arguably one of the most important religious and historical sites in all of Africa and the entire Christian world. There are no less than 200 churches in the Lasta Region of Lalibela, some hidden in enormous caves.  These brilliant feats of engineering and architecture are often referred to as the “Eighth wonder of the world”. The churches are said to have been constructed during King Lalibela’s reign during the 12th and 13th centuries.

You will visit a few of the many churches, some connected by tunnels, standing on either side of the river which the villagers call Jordan. See the Church of St. George, a nearly perfect cube from which sections were hewn to give it the shape of a cross.   Here you will see the cloth-covered “Pillar of Light” against which Christ is said to have leaned while appearing to King Lalibela in a dream.  After a fascinating visit, return by air to Addis Ababa.

On Saturday explore the historic capital city of Addis Ababa. Visit the Trinity Cathedral, a beautiful church with a Baroque style of European architecture which is unique to Ethiopia. Here you will find scripts of the imperial families, and coffins of Emperor Haile Selassie; the founder of the church, and his wife.

Continue to the Ethnological Museum, situated within Haile Selassie’s former palace and the University’s gardens and fountains. The collections reveal the history, culture and traditions of the people of Ethiopia. Discover the Merkato, the largest open-air market in Africa, selling artifacts from all over the country.

After lunch, discover more of Ethiopia’s history at the National Museum, which houses the famous complete hominid fossil remain of “Lucy” or enjoy a leisure afternoon at the hotel.

This evening, a special dinner party is planned to experience the culture and cuisine along with folkloric dancers of  Ethiopia.

The souk has evolved from its origins as a weekend market into a maze of narrow alleyways filled with small shops selling everything imaginable, including a variety of falcon shops.

Enjoy lunch at one of the restaurants on Pearl-Qatar, an artificial island off the coast. The island is being built on one of Qatar’s previous major pearl diving sites in the shape of a string of pearls; thus The Pearl Qatar will be reminiscent of Qatar’s rich past in the pearl industry.

Doha city is a fascinating blend of both traditional and modern city. On Tuesday, discover the Corniche and Dhow Harbor, before continuing on to the Museum of Islamic Art, designed by renowned architect I. M. Pei. The museum houses a magnificent collection of artworks dating from the 7th to the 19th Century, including manuscripts, ceramics, metal, glass, ivory, textiles, wood and precious stones from three continents.

An excursion by 4-WD jeeps over the massive sand dunes will bring you to the famous Inland Sea area near the Saudi Arabian border. Watch the sunset over the desert and enjoy a delicious barbecue dinner at a private Bedouin camp with traditional entertainment.

as you walk the winding streets of Seville and sample some  of the best tapas the city has to offer.

Join in the festivities this evening at a gala cocktail and dinner party including a colorful Flamenco dance performance to celebrate the finale of your Around the World adventure.
