The Mark Hotel, New York City

The Mark is housed, as it has always been, in the beautiful, 1927 landmark building at the corner of 77th Street and Madison Avenue.  But inside, The Mark has been completely reimagined, and given a new life and identity for the 21st century.  Situated on one of the Upper East Side’s best blocks, surrounded by New York’s premier museums, shops and restaurants, and the splendor of Central Park, The Mark not only surrounds you in luxury and style, it places you at the epicenter of Manhattan’s social and cultural riches.

Each of The Mark’s 150 suites and guest rooms is a symphony in understated elegance, with the most luxurious Italian bedding and linen and furnishings in ebony, sycamore and nickel.   The black-and-white marble-sheathed bathrooms evoke Art Deco glamour. They feature deep-soaking tubs, Flemish-made towels and heated towel racks, and polished nickel fittings by the British maker LeFroy Brooks; most offer a separate glass-enclosed shower.   The private bars in each room feature Sub-Zero refrigeration and black granite bar counters, and can be stocked with a personalized selection of refreshments.   The lighting, shades, temperature and audio/visual system can all be controlled with a single touch via a Crestron remote touch-screen. They can also be adjusted manually, if desired.   The beds are custom-made for The Mark, the duvet and pillows are filled with American white goose down, and the linens are by Quagliotti, the renowned Italian textile maker.

The latest technologies have been seamlessly integrated throughout every room in The Mark to provide the ultimate in audio-visual connectivity.  The system features a 32-inch HD LCD flat screen, and orchestra sound and Blu-Ray DVD.  The system is universally compatible with laptop, smartphone, and MP3-players.  Internet service is provided via Ethernet/dedicated VPN for the ultimate in speed and technology; complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi is also available.   The in-room telephones are NEC 7-inch touch screen via VOIP. A private 212 or 646 direct dial line can be assigned to any guest suite upon request.  Local cell phones are available for use at the front desk.  Remote and confidential printing services are available, and include the capability of printing from smartphones and other handheld devices.   The IT support is provided by iButlers, available to assist via telephone or in the guest room or suite.
