Enjoy three nights in each city taking in the sights and sounds of the former Austro-Hungarian Empire. Prague is a glimpse into Europe,™s history as you stroll along the Vltava River. Vienna offers a beautiful range of palaces, churches and royal residences. Budapest is home to the Parliament, the largest Gothic structure in Europe.

Day 1 – Prague:
Arrive in Prague and meet your driver for your private transfer to your hotel. (Accommodation, Prague) Note: Transfers do not include porterage or assistance. Limit: One suitcase and one handbag allowed per person.

Day 2 – Prague:
After breakfast, meet your tour in the hotel lobby. After your tour you have the day to yourself for exploration and relaxation. (Breakfast & accommodation, Prague) Grand City Tour Your grand excursion starts along the Vltava River past Manes Palace, Zofin Palace and the National Theatre, with a visit of Prague Castle with a guided courtyard walk. Then visit the historic Charles Bridge before crossing to the Hradcany district with a guided walk to visit Loretto Church, the Royal Palace, St. Vitus Cathedral, St. George Church and Golden Lane. Your tour ends with a visit of Old Town Square and the Astronomical Clock. (Tour begins at 9:30 a.m. and lasts 3½ hours with hotel pick up. Clients at K+K Central arrive on-their-own to Republic Square in Old Town.)

Day 3 – Prague:
After breakfast you have the day free to explore, or you may elect to take an optional tour. (Breakfast &, accommodation, Prague)

Optional Sightseeing:
Prague Castle with admission Daily at 11:30 a.m., lasts 3 ½ hours, arrive on your own to starting point. Cesky Krumlov with lunch Daily at 9:00 a.m., lasts 10 hours with hotel pick-up.

Day 4 – Prague to Vienna:
After breakfast you have a private transfer to the rail station for your trip to Vienna in 1st class. (Breakfast, Prague; accommodations Vienna)

Day 5 – Vienna:
This morning after breakfast, enjoy a tour of Vienna including Schonbrunn Palace followed by an afternoon and evening at leisure to relax or explore. (Breakfast & accommodation, Vienna) Historical City Tour with Schonbrunn Your tour starts at the Ringstrasse to see the Museum of Applied Arts, the State Opera House, the Museum of Fine Arts and the Museum of Natural History. Also see the Hofburg, the Parliament, City Hall, the Burgtheater, the University and the Votive Church. The highlight of your day is a visit of Schonbrunn Palace, once summer residence of the Habsburgs. (This tour begins at 9:45 a.m. with hotel pick up, lasts 3 ½ hours, ends at the State Opera.)

Day 6 – Vienna:
After breakfast, you have today at leisure for shopping, people watching or an optional tour or excursion. (Breakfast & accommodation, Vienna)

Optional tours and excursions in Vienna
Viennese Serenade and Grinzing Start your evening with a drive along the Ringstrasse to the Prater for a ride on the Ferris Wheel and a marvelous city view. Then, folk songs and operetta by the 1st Grinzinger Heurigenshow with dinner andwine in a 19th Century tavern. (Operates daily at 7:00 p.m., lasts 3 ½ hours with hotel pick up April – October; Tuesday, Friday & Saturday, November – March.)
Vienna Woods – Mayerling – Seegrotte An excursion to the Vienna Woods to the Mayerling hunting lodge, then past the Holdrichsmuhle, where Schubert composed “The Linden Tree”, to Seegrotte. After a boat ride on the largest subterranean lake in Europe, you return past Liechtenstein Castle. (Daily at 9:30 a.m. or 2:45 p.m. and lasts 4 hours with hotel pick up.)

Day 7 – Vienna to Budapest:
After breakfast you have a private transfer to the rail station for your journey to Budapest. (Breakfast, Vienna; accommodation, Budapest)

Day 8 – Budapest:
Start with breakfast then a city tour for an overview of this historical city with plenty of free time in the afternoon to experience the cuisine and culture of this sophisticated Paris on the Danube,. (Breakfast & accommodation, Budapest) Budapest City Tour Pass the Parliament, cross the Danube on the Margaret Bridge to the Royal Castle on the Buda side, with a guided walk through Fisherman’s Bastion, Matthias Church and the Citadel, cross the Elizabeth Bridge to Heroes Square, passing the Opera and St. Stephen’s Basilica. (Daily at 10:00 a.m., lasts 3 hours with hotel pick up, ends at the Inter-Continental Hotel.)

Day 9 – Budapest:
After a leisurely breakfast, find a sidewalk café for a little people-watching or take advantage of an optional tour or excursion. (Breakfast & accommodation, Budapest)

Optional Sightseeing
Eytek Wine Tour Visit the wine district where Chardonnay grapes are grown for a Torley sparkling wine similar to Champagne. (Operates Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 2:30 p.m., lasts 4 hours with hotel pick up, ends at Inter-Continental Hotel.)
-Herend and Lake Balaton Visit the Herend porcelain factory, drive to the Peninsula Tihany to visit the Abbey founded in 1051, then lunch in a traditional Csarda, a drive to the oldest spa, Balatonfured, before our return. (Operates April ,“ November; Tuesday and Saturday 9:00 a.m., lasts 9 hours with hotel pick up.)

Day 10 – Depart Budapest:
After breakfast transfer to either the rail station or the airport and your next Avanti destination. (Breakfast, Budapest)
