The Experience

After a three-year search of the islands of the Caribbean for beachfront that was secluded with hills falling into a tranquil sea, the site for the Horned Dorset Primavera was found on the West coast of Puerto Rico. Two years later a Neo-Spanish Colonial 22 suite hotel opened in December 1987. In 1997, an eight-room hacienda fronting the sea designed also in Spanish Colonial opened for upscale guests.

After completing and selling twenty-two condo suites on an adjacent hillside, the renovation of the original 34 suites into 17, two-floor condos was completed in 2008. Realized in Mozarabic style celebrating the most cultural and intellectual moment in Spanish and North African history, these large suites all with private pools have Moorish details, original architectural elements manufactured in Morocco and southern Spain. Custom furnished with period replications in Mahogany, Moroccan lamps and Venetian bedsteads each has a Kohler bathroom celebrating the importance of water — An oversized oval freestanding tub, a seven-headed marble surround shower, white marble floors throughout, spun glass wash basins.
