Day 1 – Arrive Rome:
You,™ll be met coming out of baggage claims and passport control by your driver holding a sign with your name on it for your private transfer from Rome Fiumicino airport to your hotel in central Rome for three nights. (Transfers do not include porterage or assistance. Limit: One suitcase and one handbag allowed per person. Accommodation, Rome)

Day 2 – Rome:
After breakfast, you have a morning city tour. (Breakfast & accommodation, Rome)

Meet your driver for your Semi-private Rome Panoramic Orientation Tour in your hotel lobby (specific pickup time will be in your documents). Exclusive to Avanti Destinations clients, a small-group tour with a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 8 people. Your English speaking driving guide acquaints you with all the main monuments including St Peter’s Square, the Coliseum, Forum, Piazza Navona, Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain. (Driving guide not licensed to lead tour inside of monuments or museums. Tour does not include any entrance fees, meals or gratuities.)

Tonight you dine with reservations at 8:00 p.m. at the ristorante of your choice:

Ristorante Checco Er Carrettiere, a historical restaurant run by 3 generations of the “Checco” Porcelli family features family recipes of traditional Italian dishes or seafood dressed with simplicity. (Please arrive on your own for your 8:00pm for dinner reservations. Present voucher prior to ordering. A 3-course dinner with beverages is included, gratuities not included)

Ristorante Santopadre, a family-run restaurant near the Via Veneto where locals eat, offering Regional Italian cuisine. Specialties include Rigatoni with chickpeas and lamb chops & homemade desserts. (Closed Sundays. Please arrive by 8:00pm for your dinner reservations. Present voucher before ordering. A 3-course dinner with beverages is included, gratuities not included)

Day 3 – Rome:
After breakfast, you have this day at leisure, or you can choose from a number of optional Avanti tours and excursions such as our highly recommended Vatican Museums Half Day tour. (Breakfast & accommodation, Rome)

Day 4 – Rome to Amalfi Coast:
After breakfast, meet your driver for your transfer to the rail station for your transportation to Naples by 1st class rail with seat reservations aboard Italy,™s premier train. Then, you are met on the platform of Naples Centrale rail station by your driver for your private transfer to your hotel with a private 2-hour visit of the ruins of Pompeii with an English speaking guide. (Meals, entrance to Pompeii and gratuities not included. Breakfast, Rome; accommodation, Amalfi Coast)

Ruins of Pompeii private tour Pompeii was Roman city destroyed by a two-day long eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 A.D. Along with neighboring Herculaneum, Pompeii remained buried under 60 feet of ash until being discovered in 1748. Today Pompeii is a must-see in Italy.

Make your choice of hotels in: Amalfi is a favorite destination once popular with the British aristocracy and today host to thousands from around the world attracted by sun, sea and the scent of millions of lemons growing on the terraced gardens of the coast. Positano Before May, 1953, Positano, was a poverty stricken fishing village. Then, Harper’s Bazaar published the John Steinbeck essay “Positano bites deep” and Positano became a popular upscale resort. (NOTE: Positano streets are stair-stepped and not considered handicap accessible.)

Day 5 – Amalfi Coast:
After breakfast, explore the coast, but don,™t forget your dinner reservations tonight. (Breakfast & Accommodation, Sorrento)

Arrive on your own for dinner at Ristorante Tasso in Sorrento with reservations at 8:00 p.m. This
charming Sorrento restaurant features authentic pizza cooked in a traditional Italian wood-burning oven. (Present voucher prior to ordering. Includes one 3-course dinner per person, beverage and gratuities not included.)

Day 6 – Amalfi Coast:
After breakfast, your day is at leisure, or consider an optional tour. (Breakfast & Accommodation, Amalfi Coast)

Day 7 – Amalfi Coast:
