Kenya - Beth & MikeDecember 2, 2013
Hi Sharon,
Just want to thank you so much for putting together such a wonderful trip. We truly appreciated having every detail taken care of. It was the trip of our lifetime!
James our tour guide was enthusiastic, reassuring, helpful and made the minor bumps much easier to navigate!
The Norfolk in Nairobi, top-notch.
Rekero Camp was our FAVORITE-the managers, Clea and Conway, our guide, Pius, the setting, the FOOD,quite a surprise having a gourmet chef who has been there almost 20 years. Game drives and sundowners were truly memorable. What a beautiful place.
Sayari Tented Camp-total luxury, great guide, Milaki, food was top-tier, Serengeti is so beautiful. The only issue here was that the day we arrived, the management was changing. The new managers were fantastic, but kind of scattered. Clare and John were on top of everything. We got to talk with John at length at dinner our first night, and he was so interesting and charming.
Lake Manyara Serena Lodge was beautiful and full service. I needed to see a doctor and they had one onsight. The guide was good, Andru, and he stayed with us until we returned to Kenya.
Exploreans-This place had it all! 5-star “cabins”, beautiful setting, great service. One of the most beautiful places we’ve ever stayed. I wanted to skip the game drive and just lounge around there all day. Highly recommend this place.
Satao Elerai Safari Camp-Our least favorite place, but maybe we were just really tired at that point. We weren’t impressed with our guide, George, as he seemed impatient and disinterested in the whole thing. The managers were terrific, as well as the food.
I remember you suggesting a beach portion and I said no-I regret that! If I changed anything, I would wrap it up at the beach for a few days to recuperate a bit. I also would shorten the trip by a few days. Live and learn. It was all so magical, I am still in awe.
What is the best way to file a claim for lost luggage? It was Day 4 that our bag arrived at Rekero. I bought clothing in Nairobi-around $100 worth. I’m reading the policy and am unsure how best to proceed. Let me know so I can swap this up.
You did a fabulous job, Sharon! Our next trip will be September 2013, after our youngest leaves for college. I want to go where I can snorkel every day, possibly dive. New Zealand, Galapagos, South America, somewhere wonderful!
I am recommending your services to all my friends!
Thanks again,
