Bolinas is a quaint little village on the Marin Coast known for its reclusive residents. For years the residents of Bolinas have intentionally removed the highway signs to ward off tourists. It is a interesting place where one might think they stepped into a time machine and were transported back the 60’s with hippies sitting on the curbs smiking weed and hanging around. This is just fine with the locals.
Bolinas is well know by the Marin surfers as an easy place to catch small waves and play on the beach. Sport fishermen like the easy access to the Pacific Ocean via the inlet to Bolinas Lagoon. Nature lovers and birders come from far and wide to spy on the waterfowl and birds around the lagoon.
All in all — Bolinas is a fun stop with good food and shops to visit if you can find it. Bring your camera.
