Pao de Acucar

One of the single most iconic features in the city of Rio de Janeiro is Pao de Acucar, more commonly known as Sugarloaf Mountain.

This natural behemoth sits at the mouth of Guanabara Bay, and rises 1,300 ft above the sea. The only way to reach the summit of Pao de Acucar is by cable cars, which offers a spectacular view of this vibrant city.

However, the panoramic view from the top, over the urban landscape, is even more impressive.

All of Rio,™s most famous features can be seen, including Christ the Redeemer, the Maracana, Corcovado, and all the sunny beaches. The view over the city from atop Sugarloaf Mountain is truly the best way to experience the scenic beauty of Rio de Janeiro.
