If you think African adventure means nothing but safari drives, South Africa has some surprises in store for you. From bungee jumping to sailing a 30-foot racing yacht, this independent adventure caters to the thrill-seeker inside every explorer.
Day 1:
Arrive in Johannesburg and transfer to your hotel. The balance of the Day is at leisure.
Days 2-4:
Board a flight to Victoria Falls and transfer to The Victoria Falls Hotel. Explore the Falls by foot on a guided walking tour, by air soaring over the falls by helicopter, and by water on a sundowner cruise. Continue your African adventure by rafting or canoeing on the Zambezi River. For the truly adventurous, ziplining and cable-sliding over the Batoka Gorge, high above the Zambezi River's white water, are available. For those who live life on the edge, bungee jumping is a must. Plunge 364 feet off the Victoria Falls Bridge over the Zambezi River below.
Day 5:
Fly to Cape Town and transfer to your waterfront hotel, the Cape Grace.
Days 6-7:
During your Cape Town stay, board a 30-foot yacht and depart on an unforgettable sailing adventure, where you have the opportunity to learn how to sail and race a yacht. Tour the city and ride a cable car up to Table Mountain, where the panoramic views of the city and harbor are unsurpassed. Enjoy a leisurely mountain bike ride through the most spectacular setting of the Cape Point Nature Reserve. Cycling is the best way to discover the reserve's many endangered animals and plant species, including whale, seal and dolphin. Explore the fertile Winelands via a 4x4 vehicle.
Days 8-10:
Fly to George and continue to Pezula Resort Hotel & Spa in Knysna. Visit Crags Elephant Sanctuary where you have the opportunity to interact with semi-habituated elephants. Then explore the indigenous rainforest of Tsitsikamma, a lush region of river gorges that make their way down to the sea, creating spectacular waterfalls. Zip through the treetops on a Canopy Tour on specially-designed cables for a unique bird's-eye view. Also, experience the wonders of whale (in season), dolphin, shark and pelagic bird species on a marine tour.
Day 11:
Your morning is at leisure before your flight to Cape Town.
