DAY 5: Tarangire National Park/Ngorongoro Crater
Leave Tarangire and travel overland to the Ngorongoro Crater. Stop for a farm-fresh lunch at the quaint Gibb's Farm. Afterward, you may decide to stroll in the beautiful gardens or explore the 10-acre fruit and vegetable garden. Walk to a nearby waterfall, where you can see caves created by elephants digging up the earth to ingest the vitamin-rich soil. The area is surrounded by a multitude of birds and wildlife. After your visit to Gibb's Farm, continue to one of the most magnificent wildlife arenas in all of Africa, the Ngorongoro Crater. Considered to be one of the natural wonders of the world, the crater is a 2,000-foot deep caldera created by the collapsed cone of a volcano and contains a "lost world" of wildlife. Arrive at your mobile camp, perched on the crater's rim. Exclusive Mobile Tented Camp B L D

Up to 12 miles in diameter, the crater's short grass prairies are an ideal haven for animals, and you may see lion, elephant, hyena, wildebeest and gazelle. Even the rare and elusive black rhinoceros, one of Africa's most endangered species, is a resident here. Bird lovers can view flamingo and other birds. They share the shallow waters that mirror their reflections with the big game that move from one grazing ground to another. You may also see Maasai herdsmen and their cattle. The crater is in their territory, and the Maasai continue to coexist with wildlife as they have for centuries. hosts an Out of Africa-style hot barbecue lunch in a private site set in a yellow acacia woodland with natural shade, away from the hustle and bustle of the assigned picnic sites. This evening, enjoy a private performance by Maasai dancers at your private tented camp on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater. Exclusive Mobile Tented Camp B L D
DAY 7: Ngorongoro Crater/Serengeti National Park
Leaving the Ngorongoro Crater, head west to Serengeti National Park, stopping en route at Olduvai Gorge for a privately guided visit of this famous archaeological site. It was here that Mary and Louis Leakey found the 3.7-million-year-old footsteps of Australopithecus afarensis and the skull of 1.8-million-year-old Nutcracker Man (Paranthropus boisei). Continue through the seemingly endless plains to your lodge, a clever blend of modern and traditional Maasai styles. The spacious and comfortable bedrooms have private lounges and floor-to-ceiling glass doors that afford magnificent views over the Serengeti plains. Famed throughout Africa and around the world, Serengeti National Park's 10,000 square miles support a variety of animals, including lion, leopard, hyena, cheetah, giraffe and topi. Each year, the Serengeti is the scene of the spectacular wildebeest and zebra migration, when millions of these animals make their annual trek in search of fresh grasses. Serengeti Sopa Lodge B L D
