Day 1: Arrive Cairo, Egypt

Day 2: Cairo - Giza
The air of timeless mystery pervades your tour of Cairo’s outskirts. Venture to a Mastaba tomb built of a massive stone block. Visit Sakkara Step Pyramid, the oldest known pyramid in the world, and Memphis, the first capital. Ride a camel at the Giza Pyramids, ponder the Sphinx and Solar Boat. Day 3: Cairo
Behold the pharaohs’ riches at the Egyptian Museum and the eerie remains in the Mummy Room. Move on to the hilltop Citadel, the lanes of Old Cairo, the Coptic quarter, and Khan el Khalili bazaar, a shopping adventure like no other. Day 4: Cairo / Abu Simbel / Aswan
Depart on a flight to one of the great wonders of human history – the colossal Abu Simbel. Carved into a mountain, it was relocated to its current location in 1965 through an unmatched engineering feat to save it from submersion by the Aswan High Dam project. Next, fly to Aswan and your lovely hotel with great Nile views. Old Cataract Hotel (Nile View) or Movenpick Elephantine Island (Superior Botanical & Nile View Room) (B,L,D)

Day 5: Nile River Cruise / Aswan
Transfer to private docks to board your deluxe ship for a four-night Nile cruise. Settle into your plush, spacious stateroom with private balcony, then enjoy lunch. This evening onboard there will be a cocktail reception, dinner, and onboard entertainment. Oberoi Philae (B,L,D)

Day 6: Nile River Cruise – Aswan / Kom Ombo
Transfer by boat to the graceful island Temple of Philae, dedicated to Isis, the Great Mother. Continue touring Aswan, Egypt’s southernmost city. Among Aswan’s many sites are the Unfinished Obelisk, and the famous High Dam. Aswan has become a popular winter resort for people in the region. Return to ship and cast off to Kom Ombo, going ashore to view the stirring twin temples and mummified crocodiles. Oberoi Philae (B,L,D)

Day 7: Nile River Cruise – Edfu / Esna / Luxor
In Edfu this morning, you travel by private car through town to the Temple of Horus, the best preserved in Egypt. Roam its corridors, plazas, and secret chambers where pharaohs’ rituals and festivals were held in the Ptolemaic era. Back on ship, pass through the Esna locks en route to Luxor. Day 8: Nile River Cruise - Luxor
Spend an incredible day in ancient Thebes, known for its Middle Kingdom’s glorious temples and tombs. Focus on the West Bank, the Colossi of Memnon, Queen Hatshepsut’s Temple and the Valley of Kings, where you enter richly decorated tombs hidden for centuries amid the stark desert sands. Day 9: Nile River Cruise / Luxor

Day 10: Luxor / Cairo
