Tour Itinerary
Day 1 Fly USA to Nairobi (Via Europe)
Dray 2 Arrive Nairobi On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Kenya's capital is cosmopolitan, lively, interesting and pleasantly landscaped.
Day 3 Fly Nairobi to Samburu National Park
Transfer to the airport for your onward flight. Located just north of the equator in the rain-shadow of Mt. Kenya, Samburu includes extensive ranch and communal lands.
Day 4 Samburu National Reserve Enjoy a full day in the reserve with morning and afternoon game viewing. The Samburu National Reserve is physically dramatic with the great Ololkwe table mountain in the background.
Day 5 Fly Samburu to Masai Mara Transfer to the airport for your onward flight. Masai Mara is home to the seasonal migration, however game viewing is excellent year round. This afternoon, enjoy a game drive in the Masai Mara.
Everything about this reserve is outstanding. The wildlife is abundant and the gentle rolling grasslands ensure that animals are never out of sight. Birds, too, are prolific.
Maasai communities live within the dispersal area with their stock but a century of close association with the wildlife has resulted in an almost symbiotic relationship where wildlife and people live in peace with one another. The first sight of this natural wonderland is breathtaking. Here the great herds of shuffling elephants browse among the rich tree-studded grasslands with an occasional sighting of a solitary and ill-tempered rhino.
Day 6 Masai Mara National Reserve Enjoy a full day in the Mara with two game drives included. The Masai Mara offers wonderful scenery and an abundance of big game.
Day 7 Fly Masai Mara to Nairobi Transfer to the airport for your onward flight. Kenya's capital is a great place to tune into modern urban African life.
Day 8 Fly Nairobi to Johannesburg Transfer to the airport for your onward flight. They came from far and wide to strike it rich when gold was discovered in Johannesburg in 1886, and the “City of Gold” still pulsates with entrepreneurial energy.
Day 9 Fly Johannesburg to Livingstone Transfer to the airport for your onward flight. As the home of Victoria Falls and the surrounding Zambezi region, Livingstone has become the tourist heart of Zambia.
Day 10 At leisure, Livingstone Why not canoe above the falls, or whitewater raft below them? Plunge from the second highest bungee jump in the world from Victoria Falls Bridge. Explore the Mukuni and Maramba cultural villages for an opportunity to observe traditional daily life, or partake in an elephant back safari.
Day 11 Livingstone to Chobe National Park Transfer to the jetty and take a speed boat across the river to Chobe.
The second largest national park in Botswana, the Chobe National Park is unique in that it consists of four distinct eco-systems, each one supporting a variety of game and plant life. See the famous elephant population on a Chobe safari, which are not only the largest concentration of elephants on earth but they have also been recorded as being the largest in body size.
Day 12 Day Chobe National Park Enjoy morning and afternoon wildlife activities. This rugged, semi-arid wilderness region is known for its game viewing and birding. View rock paintings drawn by the early Bushmen, who once inhabited the region.
Day 13 Fly Chobe to Cape Town (Via Livingstone and Johannesburg) Transfer to the airport for your onward flights. Arrive in spectacular Cape Town, also known as the “Mother City”.
Day 14 Cape Peninsula tour See for yourself how this spectacular southern tip of Africa became known as the 'Fairest Cape'. See how this spectacular southern tip of Africa became known as the ‘Fairest Cape’. Begin with a stroll through the famous Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. Drive past the pristine beaches of Camps Bay, Clifton and Llandudno – currently the hottest real estate in the world – to Hout Bay, a functioning harbor and heart of the local crayfish industry. Drive along the breathtakingly scenic Chapman’s Peak Drive, around the Atlantic Seaboard.
After a stop for lunch (own account), it’s on to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve and its scenic viewing point. The amazing sea and mountain views are reason enough to make the 41 mile trip from Cape Town. Amid the rocky landscape – home to mountain zebra, eland and ostriches – blooms magnificent Cape flora. Continue along the coastline to the beautiful Boulders Beach where you can stroll along wooden walkways and enjoy viewing a colony of penguins. The last stop is at the naval port of Simon’s Town, the country’s third oldest European settlement.
Day 15 Winelands tour A whole day dedicated to the indulgence and splendor of Africa's premier wine region. Escape to the beauty and tranquility of the Paarl, Franschhoek and Stellenbosch Winelands. The first stop is the Afrikaans Language Monument, perched on Paarl Rock, which offers sweeping views of the surrounding area.
Continue onto wineries of well-known estates to sample wines of merit, before visiting the Huguenot Monument and Museum in Franschhoek to discover the origins of this world renowned wine producing region. Enjoy lunch in one of the many fine restaurants in either Franschhoek or Stellenbosch (own account). Don’t miss the world-famous 19th century-style general dealer in Stellenbosch’s Dorp Street – Oom Samie se Winkel.
Day 16 Fly Cape Town to USA (Via Johannesburg)
