Explore the best of both Kenya and Tanzania on this classic overland experience that follows a circular route incorporating all the major parks and reserves in both countries. As with all travel ideas we can assist with the best airfare to Nairobi.

Day 1. Arrive Nairobi. Upon arrival at Nairobi's Jomo Kenyatta Airport you will be met and assisted by local representative who will transfer you to your hotel. The remainder of your day is at leisure.

Day 2. Samburu & Buffalo Springs National Reserve. After breakfast, drive north via Nanyuki and Mt Kenya to the Samburu National Reserve. Rugged and remote, this wildlife reserve provides some the best and most colorful game viewing in the country. Lunch en-route at Kentrout Grill. Afternoon game drives en-route to your lodge. BLD

Samburu Intrepids Club (2 nights)

Day 3. Samburu & Buffalo Springs National Reserve. All day spent in the Samburu National Reserve with morning and afternoon game drives. BLD

Day 4. Aberdares National Park. After breakfast you will drive northwards through the fertile and scenic land to the lush foothills of the Aberdares Mountain Range to the Aberdares Country Club where you will have lunch prior to ascending to The Ark. The lodge overlooks a waterhole and comprises three decks from which numerous balconies and lounges provide superb vantage points for game viewing. BLD

Please note that only one small overnight bag (per person) is allowed at the ark due to the limited room space (Cabin style) at the Ark. Your extra luggage will be deposited at the Aberdares Country Club for safe overnight custody.

The same will be retrieved the next day before continuing your onward journey. It is advisable to pre-pack the night before traveling to the Ark as there in no room provided for this at the Aberdares Country Club

Day 5. Kigio Wildlife Conservancy - Lake Nakuru National Park. Drive via Nyahururu to the Great African Rift valley, destination Kigio wildlife Conservancy & Lake Nakuru National Park, famous as the home to thousands of lesser and greater flamingo. Arrive for lunch at your lodge. Afternoon game drive until sunset. BLD

Kigio Wildlife Camp

Day 6. Masai Mara National Game Reserve. After breakfast, drive to the Masai Mara National Reserve offering wonderful scenery and plenty of game. It is perhaps the only region left in Kenya where the visitor may see animals in the same super-abundance as existed a century ago. Lunch en-route at Keekorok Lodge. Afternoon game drive until sunset. BLD

The Fairmont Mara Safari Club (2 nights)

Day 7. Masai Mara National Game Reserve. Early morning optional balloon ride with champagne-style breakfast. Today will be spend in the Mara with morning and afternoon game drives exploring this famous park. BLD

Day 8. Serengeti National Park. After breakfast, drive to the border town of Isebania where you will go through immigration and customs procedures. Proceed in the Tanzanian vehicle to Serengeti National Park. Picnic lunch en-route. Afternoon game drive en-route to your camp. BLD

Kirawira Camp (2 nights)

Day 9. Serengeti National Park. All day spent in the Serengeti with morning and afternoon game drives. BLD

Day 10. Ngorongoro Conservation Area. After breakfast, drive to the Ngorongoro Crater, the largest intact caldera in the world. Its enduring charm stems from its overwhelming physical beauty and the abundance of wildlife permanently resident on the crater floor. En route visit the Olduvai Gorge site of archeological findings, where traces of pre-historic man dating back to 3.5 million years ago have been discovered. Arrive at your lodge for lunch. Your afternoon is at leisure. BLD

Ngorongoro Serena Lodge (2 nights)

Day 11. Ngorongoro Conservation Area. After breakfast, depart for half-day tour of the crater floor. Return to your lodge for lunch. Your afternoon is at leisure. BLD

Day 12. Lake Manyara. Breakfast at your lodge, then drive to Lake Manyara National Park, one of the Rift Valley's numerous alkaline lakes, which apart from its abundant bird life, is known for its tree-climbing lions. Arrive for lunch at your lodge followed by an afternoon game drive until sunset. BLD

Lake Manyara Serena Lodge

Day 13. Depart Nairobi. After breakfast, drive to the border town of Namanga where you will clear customs and immigration formalities. Proceed in the Kenyan vehicles to Nairobi's Jomo Kenyata Airport, for your flight back home. Airport transfers are included. If required, we can arrange another night's accommodation and dinner at the interesting Carnivore Restaurant. B
