Day 2: Cape Town

Your representative meets you at the airport, and you are transferred to your luxurious waterfront hotel. Day 3: Cape Town
Drive through Cape Town to flat-topped Table Mountain and ascend to the top by cable car for a panoramic view of both city and sea. Take a refreshing stroll through Company Gardens, a large tranquil park with a lush collection of plant life. Continue to the Castle of Good Hope, the oldest building in South Africa. Day 4: Cape Town/Stellenbosch
Explore the Cape Peninsula and the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, home to the rare bontebok. Covering 22,000 acres, the reserve converges at Cape Point, a great pinnacle of rock. Ride the funicular to the top from where you may see southern right whale in spring and early summer. Day 5: Stellenbosch
Today, you will enjoy a full day of activities in the famous Cape winelands, set below the dramatic "Hottentots Holland" mountain range. Explore Stellenbosch on foot with your private specialist guide who discusses its historic significance and its place in the contemporary wine industry. View areas of great architectural heritage, including examples of Cape Dutch, Georgian and Victorian properties situated among rows of beautiful oak trees. Your walk finishes at the fascinating Village Museum, which chronicles the town's past and incorporates the oldest existing house, dating back to 1709. Afterward, sample some of the Cape's award-winning wines at a renowned Stellenbosch wine estate. Continue to the quaint Huguenot village of Franschhoek and enjoy a cheese tasting paired with wines. Travel across the stunning countryside to historic Paarl, passing the Victor Verster Prison from which former president Nelson Mandela was released in 1990. Day 6: Cape Town/Johannesburg/Mala Mala Game Reserve
This morning fly via Johannesburg to the renowned Mala Mala Game Reserve, privately owned big game territory bordering the Kruger National Park. Day 7: Mala Mala Game Reserve
Spend your day immersed in the drama of life in the bush. Your schedule is determined by the habits of the animals that you have come to see. Safari drives leave early in the morning and late in the afternoon in open vehicles. Guides are renowned for their extensive knowledge of the flora and fauna of South Africa and love to share their enthusiasm with their guests. You may also participate in a walking safari — an exhilarating way to view wildlife at ground level and track game in the bush. Watch for elephant or buffalo coming to drink at the water's edge. The Zambezi River above the Victoria Falls abounds in birdlife, hippo and crocodile. Day 10: Victoria Falls/Johannesburg/USA or Canada
Victoria Falls, "The Smoke that Thunders," is one of the great natural wonders of the world. On your guided walking tour this morning, view the thundering, crashing waters and the surrounding rainforest, teeming with birdlife, bushbuck and baboon. The falls have also become a center for adventure sports enthusiasts, who come from around the world to enjoy whitewater rafting in the gorges or bungee jumping from the bridge. Later, board a flight to Johannesburg and connect to your homebound flight. B
