Day 3: Arusha/Tarangire National Park
Visit a lush coffee plantation near Arusha and sample some of its robust brews. After lunch, drive to Tarangire National Park, renowned for its large elephant population. Tarangire Sopa Lodge B L D

Day 4: Tarangire National Park
Tarangire is home to large herds of wildebeest and zebra that are part of the park's high density of Tanzanian wildlife. Bird watching is exceptional as well, and you may spot a bateleur or martial eagle soaring overhead. Tarangire Sopa Lodge B L D

Day 5: Tarangire/Lake Manyara National Park/Ngorongoro Crater
Drive along the Great Rift Valley and explore Lake Manyara National Park, amply populated by lion, elephant and hippo. After lunch and an optional hike to a waterfall, continue to Ngorongoro Crater, formed by the collapse of an extinct volcano. As your vehicle ascends through mountain forests and you arrive at the rim, dropping off sharply in front of you is the crater, a spectacular natural amphitheater. Often referred to as "the garden of Eden," the rich pasture and permanent water of the crater floor shelters one of the most densely populated game areas in the world, home to about 30,000 animals.

Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast, explore the shortgrass plains of the crater floor, an ideal haven for lion, elephant, hyena, wildebeest and gazelle. Even the rare and elusive black rhinoceros, one of Africa's most endangered species, resides here. Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge B L D

Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater/ Serengeti National Park
Drive via the Olduvai Gorge, famous for archaeological finds made by the Leakey family, to the legendary Serengeti National Park, a vast savannah that supports the largest concentration of plains game, including leopard, lion, hyena, cheetah, giraffe and topi. Serengeti Sopa Lodge B L D

Day 8: Serengeti National Park
Spend a full day exploring the rolling plains of the Serengeti on early morning and afternoon game drives in search of the large predators and gentle herbivores. Serengeti Sopa Lodge B L D

Day 9: Serengeti/Arusha/USA or Canada
Fly to Arusha and have the use of a dayroom until your evening international flight.
