Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Depart USA Your Tanzania journey begins with your international flights to Nairobi via London.
Day 2: London / Nairobi, Kenya Welcome to Nairobi, the historical gateway to East Africa’s safari country. You are met on arrival and transferred to your elegant hotel. Nairobi Serena
Day 3: Nairobi / Lake Manyara National Park, Tanzania Kilimanjaro looms in the distance as you travel to the Tanzanian border. You begin scouting for wildlife soon after passing through Arusha, en route to Lake Manyara National Park. This compact park boasts a lively variety of mammals, reptiles, birds and habitats, making this a memorable place to visit. You may glimpse monkeys in tree branches, elephants gathered under a baobab tree, and lions on the hunt, hippos congregating in the pools along the lake shore, and the lake’s huge flocks of colorful flamingos. Day 4: Lake Manyara National Park / Ngorongoro Crater Venture today through the Masai country of the Ngorongoro highlands. Arrive at your lodge on the rim of remarkable crater, a wildlife amphitheater within a 12-mile-wide caldera, formed out of a collapsed ancient volcano. Ngorongoro Serena (B,L,D)
Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater Enjoy a thrilling day in the crater, where some 30,000 animals roam freely. This is perhaps the best place in East Africa to get close to rhinos and lions and other predators among the hundreds of animals. This is a photographer’s paradise. Ngorongoro Serena (B,L,D)
Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater / Serengeti National Park Your safari continues as you travel the vast Serengeti Plains. Its openness and sparse shelter makes this an outstanding place to view the dramatic interplay of predators and prey. Day 7: Serengeti National Park Experience some of the finest wildlife viewing in all of Africa with lion, cheetah, antelope, buffalo and other animals in abundance. The game is plentiful and viewing is superb throughout the year. This is also the location for one of the stellar events in the natural world – the annual migration of hundreds of thousands of wildebeest and zebra. Day 8: Serengeti National Park / Nairobi / Depart After a final game drive and breakfast, fly back to Arusha. In the afternoon, continue by air to Nairobi for a festive farewell dinner. Later tonight, you are transferred to the airport for your departing flight. Nairobi Serena Dayroom (B,L,D)
