Established in 1904, The Victoria Falls Hotel is set in The Victoria Falls National Park with a private path to the Victoria Falls. The elegant lounges offer serenity and seclusion.
Corridors reflect all the past glories of the Empire and suites and rooms are superbly furnished in Edwardian-style. The Courtyard entrance overlooks lily ponds, lush flowering shrubs and palm trees.
For almost 100 years, visiting members of Royal families, international and local statesmen, and celebrities worldwide, have preferred to stay at The Victoria Falls Hotel, where they are assured of privacy and care. An atmosphere steeped in history, combining the charm of the old with the comfort and convenience of today.
It is one hotel that can truly claim to be unique.
Victoria Falls Hotel Dining
The Livingstone Room
Elegant dinner and dancing with a classic á la carte menu. As a result of many requests from visitors, The Victoria Falls Hotel has decided to relax aspects of the long-standing dress code in force in its premier dining venue, The Livingstone Room. This is in recognition of the fact that many travellers do not bring with them the more formal clothes that have until now been mandatory in this restaurant. Smart casual wear will now be acceptable in The Livingstone Room at dinner each evening. The fine silver-service dining experience that visitors have come to expect will continue to be the order of the day, however.
Stanley's Terrace
A la Carte lunch, afternoon tea, sundowners, light dinner and á la carte menu.
The Jungle Junction
During the late 1940's, the Solent Flying Boat service, offered by Imperial Airways, became one of the more interesting ways to travel to Africa. This service flew from Southampton, England to Johannesburg, South Africa. The Solents landed and were serviced on a reach of the Zambezi above the Victoria Falls. This stopover became known as the "Jungle Junction" and was soon the favourite stop on the route, as all passengers disembarked and stayed at The Victoria Falls Hotel.
Breakfast and dinner buffets with Makishi dancers and an indigenous choir entertaining every night.
Victoria Falls Hotel Facilities & Services High Tea on the Terrace Traditional high tea is served every afternoon on the Terrace, with spectacular views of the Victoria Falls bridge down the Batoka Gorge with the spray rising from The Falls. Later, enjoy one of the hotel's famous Livingstone cocktails or a gin and tonic whilst listening to the mighty roar of the Falls. The Edwardian Pool
Cool off and enjoy the splendour of our glorious Edwardian swimming pool set among beautiful landscaped gardens, overlooking the famous Victoria Falls bridge with panoramic views. A Private Path to the FallsDavid Livingstone, intrepid explorer, siting the Falls for the first time from his dugout canoe, in November 1855, could hardly believe his eyes at such a spectacle. It is widely accepted that it was he who brought the discovery to the rest of the world; the Falls were named after his Queen Empress, Victoria.
The hotel has its own private path to the Victoria Falls, which is less than a 10 minute walk away.
Recreational FacilitiesThere are two all-weather, floodlit tennis courts on site. A full range of other sports is available nearby, including an 18-hole, championship golf course at Elephant Hills Resort (5 minutes drive from The Victoria Falls Hotel), Casino located at the Kingdom Hotel (5 minutes walk from The Victoria Falls Hotel); white water rafting; bungee jumping; canoeing; microlighting; game walks and drives; elephant back safaris; helicopter flights over the Falls and cruises on the Zambezi.
