The kingdom of Bhutan is nestled in the mountains of the Himalayas. During festivals the dzongs come to life with color, music and dancing as valley dwellers and townsfolk come dressed in their finest attire. Rare masked and sword dances are performed in the dzongs' courtyards and temples.

Bhutan's art and architecture, including music, dance, folklore and story telling are an integral part of the everyday culture of the people and form a tapestry within which the Bhutanese people live. Day 1

Arrive Paro. Drive two hours to Thimphu, Taj Tashi Hotel or Amankora.

Day 2

Explore Thimphu visiting the Memorial Chorten, National Library, Takin Sanctuary and Painting School. Then, a scenic drive to Punakha, Meri Puensum or Amankora.

Day 3

Discover Punakha's temples and dzongs, Meri Puensum or Amankora.

Day 4

Full day drive to Jakar (Bumthang), visit to weaving center, Leki Lodge or Amankora.

Day 5

Enjoy the day sightseeing in and around Bumthang, Leki Lodge or Amankora.

Day 6

Full day drive to Phobjikha Valley, Dewachen Guest House or Amankora.

Day 7

Full day drive to Thimphu, Taj Tashi Hotel or Amankora.

Day 8

Visit to textile museum and then drive to Paro. Visit the National Museum and Paro Dzong, Uma Paro or Amankora.

Day 9

Sightseeing in Paro. Visit Drukgyel Dzong and hike to Tigers Nest, Uma Paro or Amankora.

Transfer to the airport. Depart Paro.
