Tour Itinerary
Day 1 - Depart for West Coast to connect with your Air Canada flight to Beijing.
Day 2 - Arrive Beijing. Welcome to China. You will be met by our local representative and transferred to the New Otani Hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure to relax or take a taxi and shop to Silk Alley for Beijing’s best market.
Day 3 - Beijing sightseeing. You will begin todays tour by visiting Tian An Men Square, the largest plaza in the world. Later, visit the Forbidden City, whose acres of splendid 15th century halls and pavilions graced with imperial treasures, now comprise the Palace Museum and the Temple of Heaven. Enjoy a Chinese lunch at a local restaurant. This afternoon you will have the opportunity to experience the back streets of Beijing – Hutongs – with a peddycab ride. Tonight you will feast on a traditional Chinese Dinner. BLD
Day 4 - The Great Wall of China. A day you won't forget! Walk on The Great Wall of China, the only man-made object visible to the naked eye from outer space. We provide you with extended time here at the Badaling section of the Great Wall to savour the memory forever. After lunch, proceed back to the hotel in the late afternoon for a rest – or dash off and do some shopping to Silk Alley or Wan Fu Jing – Beijing’s famous walking street. Tonight enjoy a genuine Peking Duck banquet! BLD
Day 5 - Beijing to Xian. This morning, visit the Temple of Heaven. After a tour, practice your Tai Chi with a Tai Chi master from Beijing. After lunch, enjoy the prestigious Summer Palace where the emperors and empresses spent their time enjoying the vast gardens and man-made lake. This afternoon fly to the ancient capital of Xian, a veritable treasure trove of Chinese culture. Take some time to shop or explore before dinner. Spend two nights at the Grand Mercure. BLD
Day 6 - Xian sightseeing. Visit thousands of life-sized terra cotta warriors which have been on guard for 2,000 years. The individually sculpted warriors have been touted as the archaeological find of the century. This afternoon you will have the amazing opportunity to visit a Local Cave Home and also the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Tonight enjoy a traditional song and dance performance at the Tang Dynasty Dinner and Show. BLD
Day 7 - Xian to Guilin. This morning, explore the City Wall in Xian. Following lunch, you will take an afternoon flight to Guilin, indisputably one of China's most picturesque cities. The landscape has been the subject of Chinese painters for centuries with its breathtaking limestone mountains, tree-lined streets, rice paddies and the meandering Li River. Spend two nights at the Waterfall Hotel. BLD
Day 8 - Li River Cruise. Today cruise the Li River, one of the most mystical landscapes in the world. The river meanders through steep hills and green fields offering spectacular views. Lunch is served on board. On your return to Guilin, stop off at Yuzi Paradise – a breathtaking, architectural marvel set in a park in a very stunning part of China. This place has to be seen to be believed. Return to Guilin by coach and after a rest; enjoy a romantic Western-style dinner overlooking the Li River. BLD
Day 9 - Guilin to Chongqing. Morning at leisure to catch up on a missed shopping in Guilin. After lunch, visit the Reed Flute Cave with its magnificent stalactites and stalagmites. Later fly to Chongqing and spend a night at the InterContinental Hotel. BLD
Day 10 - Chongqing. This morning begin your day with a tour to Dazu to see some remarkable Buddha statues. Stop enroute for a tasty Chinese style lunch and visit a local countryside school on your way back to Chongqing. Check out of the hotel and board the MV President No.1 Cruise after dinner. BLD
Day 11 - Chongqing and Fengdu. This morning begin your cruise downstream. Relax on deck and observe both Chinese farm and village life. First port of call is Fengdu, known as "City of Ghosts" where a shore excursion visits one of the many temples housing silent ghost devils. Visit the Three Gorges, one of the most spectacular sights in China including the Wu Gorge with its "Twelve Peaks", the Qutang Gorge known for its magnificent scenery and the western section of the longest gorge, the Xiling Gorge. Also experience a boat trip on the Shennong Stream. BLD
Day 12 - The Three Gorges and Gezhou Dam. Visit the Three Gorges, one of the most spectacular sights in China including the Wu Gorge with its "Twelve Peaks", the Qutang Gorge known for its magnificent scenery and the western section of the longest gorge, the Xiling Gorge. BLD
Day 13. Yichang to Shanghai. This morning, visit the world's largest hydroelectric dam project to be completed in 2009. Later, you will disembark the ship and fly to Shanghai, the largest city in China. On arrival, you will be transferred to the Okura Garden Hotel. The rest of the day is free to explore and shop around Shanghai on your own. BL
Day 14 - Suzhou. Journey by train to Suzhou one of the oldest and prettiest cities in China. Visit famous classic gardens – Garden of the Fish Net Master and Humble Administrator Garden. Also enjoy a cruise on the Grand Canal and stop off at the Silk Embroidery Institute for some excellent buys on Chinese silk. Return to Shanghai on the evening train. BL
Day 15 - Shanghai Sightseeing. Today's sightseeing includes teeming Nanjing Road and the legendary Bund, or riverfront esplanade, (heart of the European settlement of the old Shanghai of novels and movies), as well as the Shanghai Museum. Also visit the elegant Yu Yuan Gardens. Tonight, enjoy a delicious Farewell Dinner. BLD
Day 16 - Shanghai to North America. Depart Shanghai for North America with your Air Canada flight home. BF

Day 9 - Guilin to Shanghai. Fly to Shanghai, the largest city in China. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Garden Hotel BLD
Day 10 - Tour to Suzhou. Journey by train to Suzhou, one of the oldest and prettiest cities in China. Visit famous classic gardens, parks and cruise on the Grand Canal. Return to Shanghai on the evening train. BLD
