You will stay at India’s finest hotels, dine with royalty, and throughout your journey be pampered with unrelenting attention.

Days 1-3

Arrive Chennai (Madras). Tour the city's many British monuments; visit the Kalekshetra Dance Academy, the Dakshina Chitra Cultural Center, and the great temple city Mahaballipuram, Taj Coromandel Hotel.

Days 4-6

Fly to Cochin, and transfer to your Keralan backwaters island retreat, privately tour the lush channels and waterways, and enjoy your secluded resort, Radisson Plaza Laguna Kumarakum.

Days 7-8

Transfer to Cochin, touring the Portuguese church of St. Francis, the 16th century Synagogue and the Dutch Mattancheri Palace, Taj Malabar Hotel.

Days 9-10

Fly to Bombay, the most colonial of India's cities, it is also the most cosmopolitan, Taj Mahal Palace Hotel.

Days 11-12

Fly to Jaipur in Rajashtan. See the Palace of the Winds, and ride atop elephants to the majestic Amber fort before pampering yourself at your lovely hotel, Rambagh Palace.

Days 13-14

Drive to Agra. En route, visit the deserted sandstone city of Fatehpur Sikri. Sunrise tour of the Taj Mahal, The Oberoi Amarvilas.

Day 15

Drive to Delhi, city touring, The Imperial Hotel.

Day 16

Fly to Varanasi, India's holiest city. Bicycle rickshaw tour in the evening, Taj Ganges Hotel.

Day 17

Sunrise boat cruise on the Ganges, then fly to Delhi, The Imperial Hotel.

Day 18

Explore Old Delhi--the Red Fort, Jama Masjid Mosque, and bicycle rickshaw ride through Chandni Chowk market, The Imperial Hotel.

Day 19

Depart India.
