Itinerary

Day 1:  Arrive Leh
You'r representative greets you at Leh Airport and transfers you to your hotel, where you enjoy lunch. Relax the remainder of the day to acclimatize to the altitude of 11,482 feet.  Hotel Spic N Span (L,D)

Day  2:  Leh /  Monasteries
Journey to the area’s famous monasteries. An early morning visit to Thiksey Monastery allows you to witness a prayer ceremony.  Hemis Monastery is one of the most famous of the Ladakh region. Return with a visit to Shey Palace. Hotel Spic N Span (B,L,D)

Day 3:  Leh / Lamayuru / Leh 
This morning, drive to Lamayuru Monastery, the oldest in the area, founded in the 10th century.  The journey to Lamayuru over a 13,479-foot pass offers unparalleled scenic views.  Meet and interact with villagers who have little contact with the rest of the world.  Visit historic Lamayuru Gompa, an ancient Buddhist monastery. Return to Leh, about a five-hour drive,  through ever-more impressive mountain scenery. Hotel Spic N Span (B,L,D)

Day 4:  Leh / Khardongla Pass / Leh 
After breakfast, set out for Khardongla Pass, the highest drivable pass in the world at 18,372 feet, or 3.48 miles!  At the top, enjoy the breathtaking views of snow-capped mountains.  In the evening, return to the hotel.  Hotel Spic N Span (B,L,D)

Day 5:  Leh / Pangong Lake / Leh 
Leave early morning for Pangong Lake through Changla Pass, 19,998 feet. Enjoy panoramic views of villages below.  Stop for a picnic lunch at Tsoltak, summer pastureland for yaks.  Drive through Durbuk on the way to the western shore of Pangong Lake.  This famous, blue brackish lake lies on the Indochina border and boasts great natural beauty.  In the late afternoon, drive back to Leh. Day 6:  Leh / Depart
Transfer to the airport to connect with your onward flight. (B)
