The Ritz-Carlton, Bali Virtuoso Resort General Information:
Built on 70 hectares (173 acres), the 338-room four story resort hotel is perched on a bluff overlooking the Indian Ocean in Jimbaran in southwest Bali.

ACCOMMODATIONS: 338 Balinese design-influenced guest rooms with Indian Ocean views, including 48 one, two and three-bedroom villas and 47 guest rooms and suites on The Ritz-Carlton Club.

INTERIOR DESIGN: The resort’s Balinese-influenced design includes alang-alang thatched and tile roofing, distinctive Balinese doors, limestone carvings, Indonesian antiques and art. Slate, wood and marble floors are throughout the public areas, guest rooms, villas and conference facilities.

THE RITZ-CARLTON CLUB: This enclave within the hotel includes 47 guest rooms and suites and The Ritz-Carlton Suite. The Club’s handsomely furnished lounge features five food and beverage presentations daily. Staffed by professional concierge, The Club offers privacy and pampering.

VILLAS: With panoramic windows on three sides, the villas command stunning ocean views. The two-bedroom Ocean Front Villa is 400 square metres (4,300 square feet); the one-bedroom is 298 square metres (3,200 square feet).

Ocean-view plunge pools with infinity edges, measuring up to 32 square metres (347 square feet), are in 30 compounds. Each villa’s two-person bathtub in its over-sized bathroom offers views of the ocean and the garden’s lily ponds.

DINING AND ENTERTAINMENT: Langit Theatre -- Open-air theatre for dining under the stars during traditional Balinese performances, which combine dance, music and song with brilliant costumes, extravagant masks and magnificent headdresses. The theatre is terraced to offer unobstructed views of the stage, orchestra and the Indian Ocean beyond.

Padi -- Outdoor seating pavilions which appear to “float” in lily ponds offer an international menu with predominantly Balinese flair. Breakfast, lunch and dinner served daily.

Damar Terrace -- Open-air bar surrounded by pools, romantically illuminated by dozens of candles in the evening, serves beverages and hors d’oeuvres throughout the day, as well as afternoon iced tea.

Sami Sami -- Casual, cliffside restaurant and bar offers innovative Mediterranean cuisine in three separate outdoor dining pavilions. Lunch and dinner served daily.

Kisik Bar and Grill -- Sand-floored restaurant and bar carved into the cliff overlooking the ocean. Features beverages and fresh grilled seafood on banana leaves for dinner.

Kubu Bar -- Located at secluded Kubu Beach, this quaint beach hut offers fresh fruit and beverages.

GARDENS: The resort grounds include terraced lily ponds and sculptured fountains and waterfalls. Featured are such tropical flora as bougainvillaea, monkey pod, frangipani, banyan, breadfruit, ironwood, bamboo and coconut trees.

CONFERENCE FACILITIES: The Ritz-Carlton Ballroom offers 595 square metres (6,404 square feet) of meeting space with banquet seating for groups up to 530 people. The Ballroom can be divided into three separate Salons.

Three meeting rooms range in size to accommodate groups of 10 to 100.

Separate outdoor function space is available for gatherings under the stars.

CLIMATE: The resort’s southern location offers the island’s mildest weather: warm, tropical temperatures ranging from 23 - 27 degrees celsius (74 to 88 degrees fahrenheit) and mild ocean breezes.

SPA COMPLEX: The 22,000 sq. meter (236,000 sq. ft) spa complex incorporates a combination of spa villas and treatment rooms and one of the world’s largest Aquatonic pools. The spa facilities, an 18 hole putting golf course and three floodlit tennis courts are set in landscaped tropical gardens which also incorporate a Japanese restaurant and Spa Café.

INTERIOR DESIGN: A modern Balinese theme is incorporated into the interior design which uses restful colors and natural materials to promote a feeling of warmth, comfort and friendliness.

LANDSCAPING: Within the spa complex, a number of water features flowing over natural rocks create a restful environment which is accentuated by the use of bright tropical flowers and plants.

SPA VILLAS: Couples who wish to share the spa experience can choose from six individually featured Spa Villas. Each Spa Villa features glass doors on two sides opening onto a private garden with two-person bathtub, outdoor shower, lily ponds and water features.

SPA SUITE: The Taman Asoka Suite, with a traditional Javanese interior, includes an open-air, oversized two-person coconut wood bathtub, along with facilities for two person massages.

THALASSO FACILITIES: A 650 Sq. meter (7,000 sq. ft) Aquatonic pool is the focal point of the spa. With a maximum depth of 1.3 meters (4 ft) the Aquatonic pool includes different zones at variable temperatures providing aquatic massages or relaxation. Sessions in the pool average around 30 to 45 minutes with underwater jets massaging different areas of the body to improve blood circulation, tone the muscles and provide a sense of well being. A fitness zone and aqua gym is also incorporated for various fitness activities to be carried out while in the water.

TREATMENT ROOMS: Six hydrotherapy rooms overlooking the Indian Ocean feature circulatory showers, jet baths and hydro massage. Twenty dry treatment rooms, including sixteen with en-suite shower and bath, are used for massage and beauty treatments. Massages can also be performed in the massage pavilion adjacent to the main pool or in the guest rooms.

BALE BENGONG MEDITATION PAVILIONS: Bale Bengongs - traditional, thatched-roof open-air lounging pavilions carved from dark coconut palm wood - are located throughout the complex for meditation or unwinding before or after treatments.
