Day 1: USA/Tokyo, Japan Board an overnight flight to Tokyo, Japan. In-flight
Day 2: Tokyo • Transfer to your hotel. Later, meet your fellow travellers for cocktails and dinner. Imperial Hotel Tokyo D
Day 3: Tokyo • Join a retired sumo wrestler for breakfast. Your city tour includes Meiji Jingu Shrine, the Imperial Palace Plaza, Asakusa Kannon Temple and Nakamise Shopping Arcade. Dine on the private boat 'Yakatabune.' Imperial Hotel Tokyo B, L, D
Day 4: Tokyo/Nikko/Tokyo • Explore Nikko's Toshogu Shrine, Kegon Waterfall and Lake Chuzenji, located at the foot of the sacred volcano Mount Nantai. Imperial Hotel Tokyo B, L, D
Day 5: Tokyo • Attend a private kabuki make-up session and a short presentation. Following lunch at Asakusa Umaya, visit the Edo Tokyo Museum. Imperial Hotel Tokyo B, L
Day 6: Tokyo/Odawara/Hakone • Take a JR Super Express train to Odawara, then drive to Hakone. See Mt. Fuji, cruise Lake Ashi and board a gondola on the Koamgatake Ropeway. Spend the night in a traditional ryokan. Gora Kadan B, L, D
Day 7: Hakone/Odawara/Kyoto • Return to Odawara to board the JR Super Express train to Kyoto. After lunch in a local restaurant, visit Sanjusangendo Temple, a National Treasure; Kawai Kanjiro Memorial Gallery; and Kiyomizudera ("Pure Water Temple"). Kyoto Hotel Okura B, L, D
Day 8: Kyoto/Nara/Kyoto • Visit the Todaiji Temple in Nara; the Nara Park is known as Deer Park because of the 1,200 tame deer that inhabit it. Enjoy visiting the Horyuji Temple in the afternoon. Dine tonight in a local restaurant. Kyoto Hotel Okura B, L, D
Day 9: Kyoto • At Tenryuji Temple experience a tea ceremony and learn about ikebana (the art of flower arranging) and kendo (fencing). Dinner this evening is at 'Kodaiji Wakuden' and is accompanied by a maiko and geiko (geisha) performance. Kyoto Hotel Okura B, L, D
Day 10: Kyoto • Explore Kyoto's Nijo Castle, Kinkakuji Temple (Golden Pavilion) and Ryoanji Temple. After lunch, noted Noh performer Junko Kawamura discusses Noh theater and gives a short performance. Kyoto Hotel Okura B, L
Day 11: Kyoto/Hiroshima/Miyajima • Travel by JR Super Express train to Hiroshima and by motorEconomy Class to Peace Memorial Park. Meet an atomic bomb survivor at the Peace Memorial Museum, then take a ferry to Miyajima's Itsukushima Shrine. From here see the O-Torii Gate before walking to your ryokan. Iwaso Ryokan B, L, D
