The Himalayan Kingdom of Nepal encompasses a dizzying range of landscapes and cultures, stretching from the fertile jungles of the Terai, to high altitude deserts locked in the heart of the Himalaya. 
Bhutan is a paradisiacal realm of fertile valleys surrounded by pristine glittering snow peaks. For hundreds of years, Tibetan Buddhism has flourished amid these hills. 
Although the Lhasa Valley is the main goal for most visitors to Tibet, there are many other facets to this high, wild, magnificent land, and during this trip we take in nearly all of the most interesting parts of 'inner Tibet'. 
The separation in 1947 of British India into the Muslim state of Pakistan (with two sections West and East) and largely Hindu India was never satisfactorily resolved.
