Kuching, Bako National Park, Batang Ai, Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan

This tour provides an ideal introduction to Sabah and Sarawak, the two regions of Malaysian Borneo. Start with two nights in Kuching, where you'll take a privately guided tour of the city and spend a day at Bako National Park. Bako is one of the best places in Sarawak to see wildlife -- expect to see monkeys, wild boars, and monitor lizards. Next, travel overland to Ulu Ai, where you can absorb rural Sarawak, visiting colorful markets and pepper gardens along the way. Arrive in Ulu Ai for a two-night stay in a resort constructed to resemble an Iban longhouse. Travel next to Kota Kinabalu for a two-night stay, where you will spend one full day touring the glorious Mt. Kinabalu National Park. The trip concludes in eastern Sabah's main city of Sandakan, where you can visit the Sepilok Orangutan Center and then proceed by boat to Sukau, where an afternoon cruise on the Kinabatangan River awaits.
Like all of our tours, this is simply a suggested itinerary, and can easily be customized to suit your schedule, budget, and interests.
