The first permanent settlers came to Myanmar from the east in about 200 B.C. and named the lush area they discovered “Golden Land.” This unspoiled land is bordered in the north and east with mountains rich in minerals and teak; through its center runs its lifeblood: the Ayeyarwady River, creating a massive fertile river plain in the south. Day 1
Yangon, formerly British Rangoon
Yangon retains much of its old world charm. Explore the colonial buildings, tour the Shwedagon Pagoda covered in 60 tons of gold leaf, and have tea at the Strand, a colonial landmark along the river. Your hotel, full of tropical ambience, is set in the diplomatic district. Governor’s Residence

Days 2 - 3
Bagan, Land of Pagodas
Tour the ancient capital Bagan, home to over 5,000 pagodas, many of which are being carefully restored. Visit a laquerware workshop to learn how this ancient craft is painstakingly created. Days 4 - 5
Cruising on the Ayeyarwady

Days 6 - 7
On the Road to Mandalay

Days 8 - 10
 Kyaing Tong and the Hill Tribes

Kalaw Hill Station

Days 12 - 13
The Floating Farms of Inle Lake

Yangon
