The first permanent settlers came to Myanmar from the east in about 200 B.C. and named the lush area they discovered “Golden Land.” This unspoiled land is bordered in the north and east with mountains rich in minerals and teak; through its center runs its lifeblood: the Ayeyarwady River, creating a massive fertile river plain in the south. It is home to a devoutly Buddhist, hardworking and hospitable people who are eager to show off their country.
