16 Days The Burmah Trader Tour Package Duration: 16 Days / 15 Nights Priced From: $6965 pp Dbl. Occ. Dates: Jul - Dec
Myanmar is truly the land that time forgot. The first permanent settlers came to Myanmar from the east in about 200 B.C. and named the lush area they discovered Golden Land. This unspoiled land is bordered in the north and east with mountains rich in minerals and teak; through its center runs its lifeblood: the Ayeyarwady River, creating a massive fertile river plain in the south.
Hundreds of pagodas dot the landscape, farmers dressed in their traditional garb tend to their emerald green rice paddies the way their ancestors have for centuries before and the pace of life seems perfectly in tune with the slow changing of the seasons.
Myanmar is home to a devoutly Buddhist, hardworking and hospitable people who are eager to show off their country. It is easy to see why writers such as Kipling, Orwell and Conrad all wrote longingly of their visits to Burma.
