This unique ten-day program takes travelers to the diverse highlights of the western coast. Separated from the rest of the country by the Rakhaing Yoma, or Arakan Mountain Range, this isolated region is considered by many to be culturally and historically more akin to India and Bangladesh than Burma. Fly to Sittwe, whose wealth and importance as a port town peaked under the British. Take a boat to the ancient Arakan capital of Mrauk-U, where a vast array of 16th century temples is waiting to be explored. Travel to Ngapali Beach, for three glorious nights at a beach resort. Return to Yangon for a final night.
Like all of our tours, this is simply a suggested itinerary, and can easily be customized to suit your schedule, budget, and interests.
